World development is when countries across the world help one another towards more enhanced development of livelihoods in order to increase the quality of life for people. This includes concepts such as financing health, education, governance, human rights, economics, foreign aides, environmental concerns, aid for natural disasters and various other issues relating to these.

There are various reasons as to why there is a need of world development. Seeing as how far the developed world has come in terms of technological advances, it only makes sense that the rest of the world should be able to have the same kinds of advantages that richer countries have. The debts would most likely have been significantly reduced or even cancelled in order to break the poverty cycle. If a country needs to take out another loan so as to purchase necessary technology and they make money from the results of the loan they had to spend, by the time they become developed enough they would have been able to pay back the loan. Competition created between nations may not always be a bad thing as it can encourage them to set up organisations that can help boost the economy. If nations are developed enough, they would be able to build factories of their own to manufacture new technology and would not need to spend excessively on buying equipment from other countries.
