World development is when countries across the world help one another towards more enhanced development of livelihoods in order to increase the quality of life for people. This includes concepts such as financing health, education, governance, human rights, economics, foreign aides, environmental concerns, aid for natural disasters and various other issues relating to these.
There are various reasons as to why there is a need of world development. Seeing as how far the developed world has come in terms of technological advances, it only makes sense that the rest of the world should be able to have the same kinds of advantages that richer countries have. Many countries still live in poverty so it is fair to have the more developed nations raise aid to help them become more developed. Another way they can help them come out of their poverty is by reducing or even canceling the debts that these countries have. This is due to the fact that most of the time they follow a poverty cycle - that is they take loans from richer nations to help pay off other debts but this plunges them further into debt. This is because the interest on the debt increases over time which becomes too much for the country to pay off. As a result, these countries are unable to provide basic services such as sufficient nutritional provisions, healthcare, education, housing developments etc. The cycle starts over as they end up having to borrow further money in order to provide these essential requirements, which in turn land them into deeper debt.
As time goes on however, technology will continue to become more advanced and this new technology will affect the way things are done. Let it be in terms of education, healthcare, economy etc. the technological ad...

...verty would be very small considering the fact that world development is about helping other countries not hindering their progression to becoming more prosperous nations. The debts would most likely have been significantly reduced or even cancelled in order to break the poverty cycle. If a country needs to take out another loan so as to purchase necessary technology and they make money from the results of the loan they had to spend, by the time they become developed enough they would have been able to pay back the loan. Competition created between nations may not always be a bad thing as it can encourage them to set up organisations that can help boost the economy. If nations are developed enough, they would be able to build factories of their own to manufacture new technology and would not need to spend excessively on buying equipment from other countries.
Based on two stories which we learnt these days: “Harrison Bergeron” and “There will come soft rains”, we can see that in the future, technology affects us a lot. Our life will mainly depend on technology, let us see how this changed us from the stories.
International development is a concept which includes processes and policies of social, economic and political change which affects the world. Process of development is a global phenomenon. On the basis of international development, classification of countries into developed countries, developing countries and least developed countries is being done. In order to do classification, various data is being taken into consideration. For example, data of countries gross domestic products or its average per- capita income, material survival rates, literacy rate as well as life expectancy, human rights and political freedom. The purpose of international development is to address important problems like poverty, inequality, unemployment etc. It helps in increasing the availability and distribution of food, shelter, health and protection. It also helps in increasing the living standard of people by providing better education and jobs.
Due to globalisation, most of the developing countries globally started to depend on strongly economic countries, attempt to create a double win situation, while the developed countries could get their resources and the developing countries could get the fund to improve their economy and government which both sides are lack of.
Over the years, technology has developed greatly. Inventions now compared to those in the past completely outshine the latter, and is always being worked on. For these reasons, technology has had a great impact on how we, as humans live our lives.
Technology has had a huge impact on modern day society. So many things we take for granted and do not even seem to notice. Now, a day is a miracle that has only served to improve our world as a whole. Air travel, modern medicine, global communication, and agricultural technology are just a few things that have had huge everlasting effects on humans.
Before the author of this paper proceeds with this chapter, one has to define what development is. Put in simple terms, authors Peet and Hartwick , development economics is the part of economics that deals with how a developing country can improve its economy in terms of growth and better living standards and conditions for its citizens. This includes economic policies, education, health, and working conditions. All these factors are considered to be the minimum essential factors that all humans require to live. It can also be defined as the differing theories con-cerning growth, poverty, institutions, and inequality in the less developed coun-tries . Development economics also is also viewed differently according to different cultures as well
Advancements in technology, especially advancements in computers, have caused a major impact on today’s society.“More specifically, profound effect on modern day medicine.”[instruct.lanagara.ba.ca 1.] [1] It has changed almost every aspect of the medical field, from the instruments used to the medicines prescribed to the operations preformed.“New technologies allow healthcare professionals to save people they never could have saved before.”[collegeview.com 1.] [2]
As Escobar points out in The Problematization of Poverty, one of the many changes in the post-WW2 era was the "discovery" of mass poverty throughout the world. This "discovery" had massive implications for development discourse. Prior to WW2, development discourse was limited to the colonial experience. But with the end of colonial rule lurking on the horizon, western academics began to formulate theories of economic growth and "modernization." As a result, an entire genre of academic research emerged: the development discourse. The aim of development discourse was to chart out patterns of growth (which were based on the historical successes of the West) that newly independent countries could use, primarily to escape vicious cycles of poverty, famine, etc.
By way we gain ever superior control over the human nature, our technological goals become progressively go-getting, and their advantages are greater than disadvantages and are more and lavish. At times new technologies even make us happier in a long-term way: Big Data Analysis, Internet of things, Cloud, Advanced Robotics, 3D Printing and above all Social Media are few examples.
Before the 17th century, innovations in the world were very few. The largest number of the population was farmers, and they had to grow their own food. On the other side, after the year 1760, when the industrial revolution started, the entire world began to experience a great amount of transformations both economic and social. In the present day, we are still feeling and seeing those modifications. Technology innovations have one of the largest impacts affecting the world nowadays. After all this new technology being developed, a new revolution is approaching; a transaction that may or not change our lives forever. Healthcare and education will see a positive impact, while labor jobs like factory workers and tellers will be affected in a negative way by the future technology.
When looking through the topic of development, two drastically different ways to assess it arise. The majority of the western world looks at development in terms of per capita GNP. This means each country is evaluated on a level playing field, comparing the production of each country in economic value. Opposite this style of evaluation is that of the alternative view, which measures a country’s development on its ability to fulfill basic material and non-material needs. Cultural ties are strong in this case as most of the population does not produce for wealth but merely survival and tradition.
However, despite the long-term economic growth, technological progress is very important, and even if we...
Development fundamentally is both complex and ambiguous. In recent years, Development has taken on the limited meaning of the practice of development agencies, especially in focusing on reducing poverty and the Millennium Development Goals. (Thomas, 2004: 1, 2) The definition of development is a controversial field. The Implicit value assumptions and associated policy responses are rationally linked to the nature of the definitions employed. These values are central to disputes about the definition of development – improve what, ways to improve it and the question of who decides? For much of the post-World War II period development has been defined in a long-term view with an emphasis on socio-economic structural transformation. Since the 1990s, development comes to be defined with a shorter horizon related to the policy objectives and performance indicators like the growth of income per capita and poverty reduction. The United Nations poverty reduction target for 2015, known as the Millennium Development Goals, is significantly higher in the latter
Now for computers in the schools, I feel we will soon have no books and all work will be done on computers. Even homework will be done on the internet and e-mailed to the teacher. Children will be taught about computers at a younger and younger age. This in turn will make the younger generations more and more skilled in electronics and understanding how they work. This will have a very large impact on they way projects and or work is viewed.
In international parlance, development encompasses the need and the means by which to provide better life for people in poor countries and it includes not only economic growth, although that is crucial, but also human development like...
