Date Or Date
Every language is unique in different ways. In English language there are words that spell the same, pronounce the same but have different meanings. One word that I come across almost everyday is the word “date”. The word date has an everyday impact on me as well as cultural impact on me. I believe the most valuable and scarce resource we know of is time. The way we measure time is by dates. We watch them as they go and count them as they get near which makes them as equally valuable as time.
According to The Merriam Webster Dictionary, the word date refers to the day, month or year at which an event occurs, specified by a number. An example will be, my date of birth is June 25, 1999. Another meaning for date is a social outing between two people. An example is, Joe and Jasmine went out for coffee. The word for "the time of an event" comes from Latin. The original Latin word did not mean either "day" or "time". Date comes from the Latin phrase data. The word data come from the Latin word dare. Data and dare has nothing to

Either its writing the date on a form, writing your date of birth, writing “todays” date on an assignment, writing it on a check or even writing a historical date. We all come across writing some type of dates on a regular basis. The date that refers to “social outgoing” I come across those probably in a restaurant or I hear about it from friends. In traditional American dating, a man and woman meet each other, decide they want to get to know each other better and start dating. Whoever dating in Islamic culture is not allowed. If a single Muslim wants to get a ‘'sense' of the other person without pressure from relatives and without losing modesty. They can be in a room with the door open so that someone can hear just outside, and with both the boy and girls parents present. Going out on a date for example going to the movies or going out to eat is completely against Islamic
Newton spoke of relative and absolute time, but time for Heidegger remains indeterminate. Heidegger states that both the past and the future are both meaningful, and they help define human beings. Moreover, the present for Heidegger doesn’t have meaning in relation to past and future or as an abstraction, but it has meaning due to the activity. The activity or the situation or the Being of now creates Time, which means that Time is finite just as human existence is finite and has existential character. Aristotle had a great impact on Heidegger development of the concept of Time in Being and Time
In ancient time people had different ways in telling time such as an hourglass and a water clock. Now a days people have clocks, watches, and an iPhone to help people tell time. Some people can tell time differently, some either use the sky or when they last recently looked at the time. All people use the ability to guess time differently. The brain can help us tell time and what type of day it is. Time was important we can look at the sky, our brain cells can tell time, and how ancient times created the navigation of time.

I wanted to understand so I went to the dictionary and found that Webster?s had no less than 29 definitions for this tiny word, time. I looked on-line and found self help books that said I could manage it better and scientists who posted things regardi...
What truly defines time? Unfortunately, words with which to describe this concept lack existence. In the vast, open sea, empty time invaded Pi throughout his journey. A key to the survival of the young boy was based on his ability to discount the illusion of days, weeks, and months. Keeping track of time would have made Pi’s journey feel nearly endless.
Throughout the day we are constantly checking the time, preparing for the upcoming months, and keeping track of the year. Clocks tell us the time we use as a measurement. It’s how we keep track of those important months and events, such as holidays and birthdays. Although there are many investigations and research being done on the nature of time, many unresolved issues remain.
Words in the Buddhist culture that signify time are “Samaya, Kala, and Ksana”(Oxford journals). Samaya means coming together at an appointed or proper time and Kala can signify time of death or “one has passed his late hour” (Miyamoto). In Buddhism, it is believed that the past and the future do not have an existence but rather the present does therefore time is eternal without a beginning or end. In this culture, it is believed to be born over and over again going form life to death to new life in a continuous cycle.
Inside every speaker of a language is a thought world, which is how they can make sense of the overly-detailed world the live in, and portray how they see things to others. Whorf shows an example of how languages differ from culture to culture by comparing the Standard Average European language to the language of the Hopi Indians. When compared, there are major differences that would make it very difficult to understand either languages depending on what culture you are familiar with. In the Hopi, all their nouns are singular and plural, to them just the word water implies an amount (Whorf 1939: 219). This unlike the Standard Average European language; in this particular language they have to have something that gives an amount or shape of whatever they are talking about, like a glass of water. The Hopi don’t distinguish time as the SAE do; they don’t place time in an imaginary place, they can only talk about what is happening at the moment. The speakers of SAE puts time in an imaginary place, they can talk about the past, present, and future. The way the two different cultures speak showcase the differences in the cultures. The SAE culture is an industrialized culture, their language is all about saving time and efficiency; they are worrying about how much time they are wasting. The Hope culture is an
Dating has evolved over the years, so now we comprehend evolution is not always an improvement. A traditional date would provide communication, familiarizing, and a lasting first impression. Now cell phones, modern dates and social media have made dating worse. Cell phones have interfered with couples communicating in dates, dates at a club instead of diner have made it impossible to get to know someone, and social media now give first impression of anyone.
Traditional Dating has changed over the years. In my generation the girls can ask the guys, there is no telling where they might go on a date, or they might just hang out at home, which did not happen as much 25 years ago. My generation's moral values are changing too: sex on the first date happens more frequently now. Many Years ago a guy would go pick the girl up at her house, was introduced to her parents and have a talk with them before taking their little girl out for a first date. Now, however, guys and girls meet somewhere or the guy just beeps the horn and in many cases the parents do not meet the guy with whom their daughter is going out. When my parents were young, dating was something taken seriously, and knew someone for a period of time before ever asking her out on a date. Today a date may be just something to do for fun or if you are bored. Nowadays many people "hook-up" at bar, clubs or random parties. : I wonder what changes are to be in the future of dating.
Each person carries things with them, whether it’s a purse, or a backpack, or a slim wallet slid into their pocket. They may not carry these physical things all of the time, but these staple items are with more than they’re not. The become a part of the person’s identity. They become emotional burdens for the person to bear.
Time is defined in the dictionary as “the indefinite continued progress of existence”. Einstein is credited with time being referred to as the fourth dimension when in terms of science. Ever since the first humans lived to now, time has always been an important part to life. We began to classify time and name certain sections of time by the length of how much time it has taken. These different sections are words that we hear almost daily, such as days, months, and years. The words are then used to clearly understand the span of a li...
History is a series of important past events that connect with something. History is what makes people make better decisions. There are many definitions of history and everyone has their own.
Devlin believes that mathematics has four faces 1) Mathematics is a way to improve thinking as problem solving. 2) Mathematics is a way of knowing. 3) Mathematics is a way to improve creative medium. 4) Mathematics is applications. (Mann, 2005). Because mathematics has very important role in our life, teaching math in basic education is as important as any other subjects. Students should study math to help them how to solve problems and meet the practical needs such as collect, count, and process the data. Mathematics, moreover, is required students to be capable of following and understanding the future. It also helps students to be able to think creativity, logically, and critically (Happy & Listyani, 2011,
Study is necessary to succeed. Study is a good way to develop our mental. Study can increase our experience and knowledge. Study can also train our mind to understand the complexities of the subject chosen and then apply that understanding in practical terms. Through study, we can learn how to discipline ourselves to do something you don’t want to do, which will help us succeed in anything in our life.
