Introduction According to Sire (2004) a worldview in essence is the "set of presuppositions, assumptions which may be true, partially true or entirely false which we hold consciously or subconsciously, consistently or inconsistently about the basic makeup of our world" (p. 19). All of us, however believe that something beyond us is present, yet there are many different thoughts on what that may be. As Sire (2004) points out many believe in "matter", while others believe in the "spirit or soul" (p. 19). We are left with many questions. How was our world created? Is there a God? Is He good or even real? These questions are important and determine how we view our life. Additionally, our worldviews are shaped by the influences in our lives, …show more content…

My personal Christian worldview is based on God being the creator of our universe and all powerful. He has provided salvation for us by way of Jesus Christ, as well as provided a foundation and guide for us to live by with the Holy Bible. "Don 't be troubled. You trust God, now trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father 's home, and I am going to prepare a place for you. If this were not so, I would tell you plainly. When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know where I am going and how to get there" (John 14: 1-4). Likewise, Jesus is the way to our Lord. He said "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you had known who I am, then you would have known who may Father is. From now on you know him and have seen him"! (John 14: 6). We have been carefully instructed, but also given the free will to do amazing things with the teachings of God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the word of the Holy Bible. Jesus is the Son of God and we learn from him about our Lord, which only he could do because he is God. This in of itself is an exceptional gift of trust. He gives us the answer through his son, so we can accomplish his purpose in our lives (Holy Bible, NIV, 1996). Likewise, Jesus Christ encourages us to go out and to do better and make a difference in our world. "You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it useful again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world - like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see. Don 't hide your light under a basket! Instead put it on a stand and let it shine for all. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly father" (Matthew 5:
