My passion for the fascinating wolrd of science literally can not be put into words. Since receiving my first home science kit at five years of age the way things work and why has always been at the forefront of my mind. During my early years I would find great delight in examining anything I could fit under the lens of my telescope. I will never forget my first look at the intricate detail of a human hair.
High School has helped me to refine this passion to the field of biological sciences with my particular interest being molecular genetics. My peers called my "crazy" for undertaking all three science subjects in my HSC course, but for me there really was no other choice. I have excelled in biology with a trial exam mark of 97%. Within the component of advanced molecular genetics of this course my mark of 100% reflects the love and passion I feel towards this subject, and I am extremely proud to be ranked number one in a very competitive class of sixteen. While biology has been my favourite subject I have also excelled in Physics and Chemistry ranking first and second in these subjects. …show more content…

Independently I produced a twenty page document detailing current genetic research and therapies with my case study being the cystic fibrosis disease. When reading back over my report I was amazed at the advanced level of language and information I had managed to convey and felt extemely proud to receive a mark of one hundred percent. I put my high marks down to my childhood love of science which has grown over the years from reading every science book I could find and watching the Magic School Bus (education science cartoon) over and over to readliy completing independent research tasks in my own
