My mission here at State University is to strive to be the best person that I can possibly become. I respect my elders and try to learn good values from them. Also, I try to be a good role model for my friends and youngsters. I appreciate and understand other people's differences and am happy that we’re not all the same. As a team leader, I try to put these differences and diversity to good effect. I take full responsibility for my actions. I am always accountable to my decisions. If I make a mistake, I am always ready to admit it and learn from it. I always remember that before I can influence someone else, I must first be in charge of myself. If I am not fully convinced of my own decisions, it would be very difficult for me to influence others. I am a responsible student who works hard in school. I believe that hard work is the key to success. My goal is to graduate and fulfill the dreams of my father. I want to pursue Urban Planning just like him. I also plan to have a Master's degree for the same. I will take every effort necessary to ensure that I meet and, if possible, exceed my goal through sheer dedication and perseverance. I pledge to offer the highest quality of leadership, the greatest level of expertise, and tireless dedication to the cause. I studied English last year at County Community College and moved to State University for this major later. I like California. I strongly feel that the mission statement of State University complements and resonates with goals and aspirations of mine.
As State University guarantees the best pedagogical techniques, I will try to show my excellence as a student. I will demonstrate my intellectual capability and ask right questions at the right time to feed my curiosity. I will...

...trated. I would give higher priority to tasks which have to be performed immediately. Flexibility is also very important and I would modify my path whenever need arises. Efficient management of time is also necessary when it comes to tackling obstacles. The first stages are even more important because when we see first progress, we become even more determined to put in more effort towards our goal. Procrastination is also a very big obstacle and may keep us distracted. We should always make small goals which in turn would coordinate to meet the larger goal. We should never get caught in unnecessary thoughts. Without getting distracted by the external environment, I would keep the primary goal in mind while doing any task. As I want to get a Master’s degree in Urban Planning, these values which I have already listed would surely help me in taking good decisions.
I sat in my child development class in a “brick and mortar” classroom setting. What was I doing there? I was extremely interested in what the professor was speaking on and what was being discussed. However, I was beginning to doubt whether I wanted to continue in my current field of study, Speech/Language Pathology. I no longer felt I was being fulfilled. There was something lacking. I talked to a few of my friends who mentioned how much money I would make as a Speech/Language Pathologist. I heard what they were saying, but somehow it just did not matter. I had to find the missing link…….
The schools and other units of the University will, over time, develop individual strategic plans that support and harmonize with the University Strategic Plan. Every member of the University community is invited to participate in ongoing conversations about the University 's goals and to help establish numerous specific short-term and long-term initiatives. The intention, then, is to align the efforts at the school and operational levels as closely as possible with these strategic goals and to measure our progress, employing key performance indicators at every
“My mission is to be a humble and understanding person desiring to grow, help anyone in need and find happiness, fulfillment in life. To choose the ethical way by making the personal commitment to honesty. Building a reputation for being dedicated to my pursuit while having professional, academic and personal successes.”
I hope that by sharing my personal statement, I have been able to give you an insight into the person I am and what I hope to achieve. I have included what I have felt to be the most significant influences on my career choice. I expect undergraduate school to continue to be a journey which I embark upon with great
Renee stated, that in the Department of Student Affairs they work very hard to be in sync with the University’s mission (personal communication, September 11th, 2015). She provided many ways of how this is done. The department supports and teaches students outside the classroom, they transform lives through out-of-class experiences, and prepare the global leaders of tomorrow (R. Romano, personal communication, September 11th, 2015). Renee also mentions the importance of their Student Affairs Strategic Plan. The Student Affairs Strategic Plan completely mirrors the University’s strategic plan but has established specific initiatives relevant to student affairs (R. Romano, personal communication, September 11th, 2015). This shows the relationship between both mission statement and how it important it is for the missions to be practiced and have a purpose. Renee also mentioned how she personally carries out the institution and divisions mission, but could not answer for everyone within student affairs at the University. Renee reinforces and carries out the mission statement is by including it in publications, communication, creating out-of-class student experiences, and using assessments to assure that the programs and services are meeting their objectivities (Personal communication,
As the most of my peers, I have been asking myself a question, what is it really I want out of my life? This question has been bothering many people, and not only the college students who are trying to figure out the path which will lead them to the comfortable life. One might ask, what is that comfort that we all are striving for? Is it a state of mind or is it some unknown world that we are so eager to enter? Well, it varies from person to person, it depends on the life that the person has left behind when the decision to go to college was made. There are several aspects of our lives that could influence us and the future decisions that we'll make. The biggest part of our decision making is the way we were raised and the culture we have got used to. Many Americans believe that the success depends on the family background that you have. There are those who say that if the person was raised in a rich family, all opportunities are available to them and there is a high! chance that the person will live a comfortable life. The same people are saying that if the person was raised in a poor family there are too many obstacles to overcome and most of the time these barriers on the way are too hard to cross. On the other hand, there are those people who say that the America is the land of opportunities and any person could achieve his/her goals if they set their mind to it.
Once attending university, not only is a person learning to find a balance between studying, attending or finding a job and enjoying leisure activities, but they are also discovering or developing skills they did not know they had. One of the most important skills that will be developed is that of time keeping and being able to prioritise activities and tasks effectively. Many students find it difficult to organise their social life along with the tasks of handing in assignments and getting into lectures on time, so the idea of list making and setting clear, achievable goals for themselves is a necessity. Dividing goals into key steps, helps the achiever of being able to carry out the task well, and also allows them to be able to reflect upon the their progress both during an after the achieved task. All tasks prepared and given to students during the academic process are provided with a time deadline and it is expected that they abide by this impecably, with unpleasant consequences if they do not. During this time, students learn that without time management skills that they learn within the academic structure it would be very difficult for them to be able to proceed into the working world without basic found skills having penitent consequences if not adhered to. During many classes and lectures within the academic world, lecturers and class leaders explain and maintain morals and practises that they developed and mastered during their time of entering the world of work, and ensure their aptitude and competence is inflicted and understood by their students. By ensuring these skills are shown by members of a higher rank, they are influencing and encouraging people to have the grounds to suceed in a pressurising enviroment.
I am currently working at the as a social worker assistant. Prior to working at the nursing home I was employed at a restaurant as a general manager. I have found that my current job to be very rewarding. The reason I am majoring in social work is because I have a strong desire to help people, make things better, and make a difference in people’s lives. My goal is to become a licensed social worker and work in the gerontology field.
A person's philosophy on education covers many different aspects. Such things that ones personal philosophy can contain are the purpose of education, methods one may use in education, and even the curriculum which may be taught. I feel that these three things are the most important for my personal philosophy and goals of education.
I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, socially, and academically. It is my desire as a future educator to help students meet their fullest potential by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. There are two elements that I believe are essential to establishing such an environment, (1) allowing the child’s natural curiosity to direct his/her learning, and (2) promoting respect for all things and all people.
Relatively speaking, successful people are generally goal setters, “organized, efficient, confident, and well prepared” (de Janaz, Dowd, & Schneider, 2012, p.55). Goal identification and achievement are extremely important attributes when objectives are complex and comprehensive. In addition to completing the course requirements, studying heavily for a securities exam and an agency acquisition encompass most of daily activities. Prioritizing goals and objectives relies upon simultaneously monitoring thoughts, feelings, actions, and behaviors (de Janaz, Dowd, & Schneider, 2012). Some imperative behaviors essential for goal setting outlined throughout course materials suggest making goals challenging, maintaining a positive attitude, starting out with smaller steps which can be more effectively managed, taking full responsibility for the results, and always persevering towards accomplishing goals (de Janaz, Dowd, & Schneider, 2012). All of these suggestions are applicable towards accomplishing overarching goals, objectives, mission, and vision. Really enjoyed reading about the goal writing acronym SMART, which stands for “specific, measurable, attainable/believable, realistic/achievable, and time bound” (de Janaz, Dowd, & Schneider, 2012, p.59). These types of strategies are especially important when personal and professional life entails having very broad based initiatives which desirably need to become more focused and concentrated towards ethically achieving the most desirable
For my third trimester, I have three goals I want to achieve. My first goal is to reach my AR goal. My second goal is to beat my old scores on MAP testing to show growth. My third goal is to improve my grades throughout the third trimester. In order to improve my grades, show MAP testing growth, and reach my AR goal, I will work hard and effectively.
Mental health has become a growing issue in today’s society which devotes healthcare professionals to educate the population on the severity of mental illnesses. As I attended school and worked with families in low poverty communities, I realized day after day that mental illness has been the cause of disorganization from one family to the next. Through my clinical experiences, I know from the bottom of my heart that specializing in psychiatric nursing will allow me to provide the educational opportunities in underserved populations. Earning this degree will allow me to apply advanced clinical judgment to evaluate, diagnose, manage, and appraise holistic plans of care. All in all, I truly believe that mental health will always be an ongoing societal challenge amongst individuals and families. As I work towards this degree, I plan to implement continuous evidenced based practice and therapeutic care to increase mental health awareness.
Many people tend to set goals. They can set goals for their personal life, academics, or even for their professional lives. You can literally set a goal for pretty much anything you can imagine. I believe that people should set goals, they help you stay focused and want to do better for the future. Goals change all of the time though, because of a lot of different reasons, maybe you found that one thing just really is not what you want to do with your life, so you find something else to do. To me that is just how life is, my goals will most likely change as I am getting older and trying to find what I want to do with the rest of my life.
All your life growing up, you don 't have to make any big decisions. This all changes senior year when you have to make a decision about what you are going to do with your life after high school. What you choose to do can dictate how you spend your time and money. If you do not make a choice you will not be able to move on towards being a self supporting adult. Decisions are hard to make but essential to keep moving forward.
