My Experience of Using Reading Strategies

Reading a book has always been truly enjoyable. However, sometimes, reading books that are not in my first language can be fairly challenging. For example, I have reading assignments every week for my Zoology tutorial. One of the books that we are reading is The Structure of Scientific Revolutions by a renowned scientist, Thomas S. Kuhn. Even my American classmates found this book very difficult to read because in brief, it is a combination of complicated scientific facts and philosophy. After I learned about the reading strategies, I used them when I was reading the postscript of the book. In general, the postscript contained conclusions of all previous chapters and the author added some new ideas and explanations since this chapter was written seven year after the book was first published. A theory that the author held on throughout the book was that every scientific community consists of scientists who have undergone similar educations and professional trainings.
