My Decision to Become a Nurse
A day in the life as a CNA (Certified Nurse Aide) can have its ups and its downs. As a CNA you can work in a couple different areas of the nursing field, you have options of where you want to be and you are not finite to any certain place. Most CNA’s start out working in a nursing home then exude to other places such as hospitals. As a nurse aide you have many options of being in a certain field of nursing. That is what I love about nursing; it is versatile and you can work wherever you want in the country. You can travel and see places you haven’t seen while doing what you love to do as a career.

But that is an option it is not mandatory to become a CNA. Then you can apply for the Registered nurse program which is (2) years. But you should want to take a year to complete your prerequisites so you wouldn’t mix it with your program but that is also an option. Once you have your RN license you must have 1-2 years of experience. You would want to take the program that is called the Bachelor of Science in nursing known as a (BSN). After you complete the (BSN) program you would have to get state certified. After that you would have to obtain your Masters or (PHD) in nursing. Then you can work as a nurse
Why would anyone be in the healthcare field? First, there are different types of positions available. Second, this is a very rewarding career for those who enjoy caring for others. Although, most people think there are a lot of differences between certified nursing assistants and licensed practical nurses, they share the same type of work, working conditions and job outlook.
“Behind every great nurse there is a running CNA.” This statement is true, however only in the long-term care setting of nursing homes. Certified Nursing Assistants/Aides can be found in different settings, as well. Such as, hospice environments, and the homes of those seeking home healthcare. In each environment, CNA’s are important to the patients receiving their care.
RNs can work in a doctor’s office, hospital, long term care facilities (LTC), and other caring facilities (“Summary”). In a doctor’s office an RN will work with doctors and other nurses to provide holistic care for patients (“Explore…”). In hospitals there are many different positions an RN could hold. A medical-surgical RN would take care of patients post-surgery, while a NICU RN would help newborn babies and their parent(s) maintain a good healthy life. In an LTC the head nurse is over all of the other nurses in the facility. The charge nurse is over the other nurses of that particular shift. My desire to become a nurse is deeply-rooted in my aspiration to contribute to the well-being and improvement of the less privileged as well as my own personal ethical stance. My decision was made easy by the professional code of ethics of nursing, which correspond with my personal beliefs. One of my personal values that have shaped me into who I am today is honesty. It is important to provide patients with accurate information on procedures, diagnosis, treatment options, and possible outcomes. Although I am fallible, it is imperative to acknowledge and take responsibility of my own mistakes. These personal qualities would help propel me into my professional career.
Certified Nursing Assistants "perform delegated nursing task under the supervision of a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or registered nurse (RN)" (Sorrentuino & Remmert, 2012). Nursing assistants are trained and certified to "provide basic quality of life care" (Botonakis, 2012) which includes assisting patients and residents with activities of daily living(ADL) such as; feeding, grooming, hygiene, housekeeping task, toileting; transporting patients and assisting with mobility. The responsibilities of nursing assistant vary based on state regulations, employment setting and the employer's individual policy and patients' individual needs (NCDHHS, 2013).
A Certified nursing assistant is one of the members of the health care team. It is also known as a CNA or Nursing Aide. They refer to the ones they care for as residents or patients. In the medical field, a CNA is the lowest paid, however they are the ones who do all of the work such as physical work. They come in contact with the residents more than anyone else; they are the prime care givers. They are always under the supervision of licensed practical, licensed vocational and registered nurses, known as LPN/LVN or RN. The residents/patients that they deal with need long term care, like nursing homes and caring for them at their home. Since they are long term, staying with a faculty up to several months and even years, many CNA’s create a bond and close relationship with them. The main thing they do for them is produce basic care for them or known to them as activates of daily living or ADL. Great paying CNA jobs are very easy to find, even though it requires little training and a variety of skills.
When researching certified nursing assistant it is important to see how much schooling it requires and the training it needs. Also look into the history of certified nursing assistant it is good to see how far back it goes and who started it and how it all started. If money is a problem that would be a great thing to look into just because if they do not make enough money it would not be a problem to not continue with nursing it even says nurses are not the highest paying jobs. Everything that the nurses ends up doing is for the love of their jobs and being able to help others that can not help themselves. A nurse's job is like giving back to the community. It is great to know that the families of the loved one that you are taking care of will not have to worry about them not being taken care of correctly. Doing research is really important for any job that is something that is your passion and would want to do for a long period of time. Nurses take into consideration that no matter what something will always be a risk and something good or bad could happen at any point. The next step is
In conclusion, being a CNA is hard work and takes a kind heart to do this job. From my experience I have learned CNA’s are not just CNA’s, they play an important role in patients and residents lives. They are there when times get rough, when the lonely needs a companion, when the hurt needs comfort, when family absence causes pain. Certified Nursing Assistants are angels in disguise.

Evidence-based decision making involves choosing from a variety of possibilities and combining the knowledge through research and the scientific evaluation of one’s practice. The purpose of this paper is to analyze my decision of administering ativan by advocating for the patient and anticipating her change prior to confirming signs; which provided a therapeutic response.
A Certified Nursing Assistant works under the supervision of nurses or other licensed medical professionals. My journey to finally realizing of becoming a student in this RN Executive Program has been a long journey filled with excitement and disappointing periods. I 've started this quest in the Summer of 2015 and here I am, two years later, starting my first class in the program, Nursing 301.
The job I have been interested in since I was a freshmen in high school was a registered nurse (RN). I decided to choose this career because when I was a freshman in highschool I tore my ACL for the first time. I avidly want to study nursing. I feel like being a daft person will help me get along with patients.The nurses were always there to comfort me and made me feel better about the situation I was in. they helped me through the hardest time in my life. A Certified Nursing Assistant’s main role is to give basic care for patients, as well as help them in their daily activities they might have trouble with on their own. These activities include bathing, dressing, and feeding patients while delivering the highest quality of care. There were several reasons why I chose to purse a future career in nursing and to eventually become a Nurse Practitioner. One of the first reasons were because one of my aunts were a nurse and is now a Nurse Practitioner. Another reason is that I used to go on the Internet and look up what it was like to be a nurse. I also watch a lot of medical shows and surgery shows and the medical field has always intrigued me. Another reason is when I took a Health Science class my senior year of high school, that class really made me want to go out and purse my lifelong dream to become a nurse or a Nurse Practitioner.
