Music would not be music if it were not for the sound produced by an object we know of as an instrument. “A musical instrument is a device created or adapted to make musical sounds (Oxford dictionary (British & World English)).” Music dates back to many years and even before electrical instruments humans alway found a way to create sound. Whether it was by clapping, singing or humming people alway created ways to create sound. Although not a proven fact, I strongly believe music is a way to connect oneself emotionally. Music will and alway be a way for individuals to express their emotions such as, sadness, excitement, happiness and anger. However, music will not be music if it weren’t for the sounds produced by the instruments. There are many instruments worldwide but the ones I find to be interesting are the saxophone, accordion and a violin.
The saxophone (also referred to as the sax) is a conical-bore transposing musical instrument ("Saxophone"). The saxophone was founded by Antoine-Joseph Sax ("The History Of The Saxophone"). Strongly influenced by his father he began to involve himself in creating instruments at a very young age. He also produced some of well known instruments we know such as the flute and the clarinet ("The History Of The Saxophone"). Antoine-Joseph Sax was so talented and knowledgable he quickly took notice of the different aspects of instruments. This helped him in the creation of the Saxophone. “Sax noticed that the brasses were overpowering the woodwinds, and the winds were overpowering the strings. He saw the need to come up with a new instrument that would create some form of balance between the three sections (brass, woodwinds and strings). The sound that he was seeking would lie between the clari...

In all, the saxophone, accordion and the violin are all unique and complex instruments played by many respected musicians and composers. These instruments create sounds that I love to hear and are used as the methods of expression emotionally and mentally. The coordination skills needed to play these instruments are profound. It is a way to express oneself and relieve some stress. These sounds that are composed by these instruments have the ability to influence and motivate. Music is history and art and the instruments to create the music are a fun and exciting way to promote happiness in life.
Everyone can say that music has become a major part of almost everything in our lives, but many argue about whether or not music is a luxury or whether we need it to survive. Music has been around for as long as anyone can remember, yes it has evolved, but there’s always been music it seems. From tribes performing their rituals with music, all the way to someone listening to it just for fun. But, many say that a human needs music to survive, that without it life would not go on. And like mentioned before, it has been around for many years and it seems like one cannot picture a world without it. In my opinion, I believe, that one does not need music to live, it is just something people like to do while studying, practicing a sport, or just for fun.
The saxophones are timid on average and have a talent for complaining. They can usually be found huddled together in the band hall talking about how awful something,or another
The piano is the most commonly known and most used. The saxophone has the ability to produce a unique sound. The clarinet has a reed connected to the mouthpiece, which the player blows through to create music. The trumpet is another a popular instrument. The trombone is descended from the trumpet that’s with played in bass clef or treble clef. With the larger size the double bass, the player usually has to stand up. The drums include the bass drum, snare drum, and cymbals. Last but not least, it’s good to have a vocalist because songs will sound
The Alto Saxophone is a single-reed musical instrument that was invented in 1846 by Antoine-Joseph (Adolphe) Sax. Adolphe Sax was born on November 6, 1814 in Dinant, Belgium. During his childhood, he studied the clarinet and flute at Brussel’s Conservatory. His father was a renowned maker of musical instruments during that time. Since Adolphe grew up with his father making instruments and studying the clarinet and the flute, it was obvious that he would end up following in his father’s footsteps. The first instrument that Adolphe decided to look at was the bass clarinet; he wanted to improve the tone of the instrument. He came up with a single-reed instrument constructed from metal that had a conical bore and overblew at the octave, which translates to the saxophone.
Some of the most well known composers came to be in the in the classical music period. Ludwig van Beethoven was one of the composers, along with other greats of the time like Haydn and Mozart, which helped to create a new type of music. This new music had full rich sounds created by the new construction of the symphony orchestra.
Beethoven, I believe, was ahead of his time. To me, he is the greatest composer of all time. His music is not just sounds of music played together in harmony, but a way of life. The music he created for the world is not just to listen to it, but grabs onto the emotion he was setting up. Beethoven's unordinary style cannot ever be copied by any composer or music artist.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven are very famous past composers that have created many pieces that have influenced not just people of their time, but people in modern times as well.
Since the earliest days of human civilization music has been a key tool for communication of stories which carried emotions through them. If we think back to our youngest years of life music has surrounded us whether it was from our parents singing us lullabies or from some sort of toy that played music we can say that musical melodies have helped shape or lives one way or another. Once we start growing up and figuring out who we are our musical preferences change; some people like classical and some like punk. We start to befriend people who like the same music as us and eventually we may attend a musical event. Our lives somewhat revolve around the music that we listen to.
Music has shaped the lives of people throughout history. Even in its earliest forms, music has included use of instruments. One of the oldest musical instruments known is a variation of the flute; the original flute is thought to date back nearly 67,000 years ago. Tonight we are going to move throughout the eras with a history of instrumental music. This concert will begin with the Renaissance Era and continue through time until we have reached modern instrumental music.

Throughout this semester we have discussed an array of musical periods ranging from the Middle Ages and Renaissance to more recent modern times. As music progressed through time certain concepts such as melody, harmony, and texture changed along with the introduction of different instruments. In the early phases of music it was more directed toward religious ceremonies, but as time went on it became integrated into everyday life. Even though musical dynamics seem to change as the years go on, it has never failed to create some form of emotional response such as laughter or sadness.
“An art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color” is music defined by Dictionary.com. This definition is for the most part is accurate, from a superficial standpoint, although it does not capture the importance of music as music is vital in the rehabilitation and development of others. For instance, music is a tool that can be very effective if used properly. Take small school children for example. More often than not, they are taught songs that are intended to help them remember important information Even if the child is unable to recount the lyrics of the song, they will most likely be able to hum the tune and recount the information. Music not only assists children, it also adequately aids adults. This is the case with the classical music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as it has been known to entice learning. Most people in our western society predominantly use the left sides of the brain but the music of Mozart causes both sides of the brain to work toge...
Expressing yourself without music would be nearly impossible. Music is a pastime for some, but a lifestyle for others. If music wasn't around, musicians wouldn't be able to write meaningful songs that showcased their emotions. Music is an outburst of the soul for musicians. For example, if a drummer had experienced a difficult heartbreak, and wanted to take his anger out on something, he could not make music on drums. Or if a singer just came back from a life changing vacation and wanted to sing about it, he couldn’t. Musicians would have no outlet, and therefore not have a way to express themselves, and maybe not even have a job. Even if you are not a professional musician, but just play around on an instrument, it still acts as a way of expression.
