Everyone in 'Saw III' deserves an eminent collaborative achievement award, the actors Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, Bahar Soomekh, and Angus Macfadyen. The director, Darren Lynn Bousman, and producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules, made the Saw franchise magnificent. Schindler's List, by Steven Spielberg is an award-winning masterpiece - a movie which portrays the shocking and nightmarish holocaust in a three-hour long epic. The documentary touch re-creates a dark, frightening period during World War II, when Jews in Nazi-occupied Krakow were first deprived off , of their businesses and homes, then placed in ghettos and were then forced to labor for no consideration in camps in Plaszow, and finally they were resettled in concentration camps for execution. The violence and brutality of Nazi’s treatment towards Jews is a series of horrific incidents that are brilliantly showcased.

Similarly, they made it up to seven parts so far and as far as I know there is the last part or the final chapter; Saw VIII too, which is uncertainly going to be released in the summer of 2016. So far the total box office collected globally from all seven parts of Saw are above $800 million. Hostel sequels are the other movies to set the record on high grossing horror film. Its clearly stated in the Forbes,“Roth made Hostel for $4.5 million, and the film was released in January 2006. Film scholars around the world agree that all genres of film are part of the “genre cycle”. This cycle contains four different stages that a specific genre goes through. These stages are: primitive, classic, revisionist, and parody. Each stage that the genre goes through brings something different to that genre’s meaning and what the audience expects. I believe that looking at the horror genre will be the most beneficial since it has clearly gone through each stage.

The Scary Movie trilogy is a spoof of scary and not so scary films. The first of the three movies to date was released in 2000. The movie was based on the scary movies that were released at that time. These movies included: Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Sixth Sense, and The Blair Witch Project. As the movies progressed they seemed to add parodies of not so scary movies such as Charlie's Angels and Mission Impossible II. Even though these movies did not seem to fit into the title, they were still creatively incorporated into the second movie. Then, there is the highly anticipated third movie with spoofs of all the movies that have made it big recently. So, of course this seemed to be the best of the three featuring The Ring, 8 Mile, Signs, The Matrix, and even an "appearance" by the king of pop, Michael Jackson.

This movie rated number five due to even though included a somewhat good backstory it lacked qualities that many good horror movies of its time included.

Many of the major studio horror films are marketed towards a PG-13 through R audience. The genre has evolved over time where it is at a point that the blockbusters seem to follow a basic formula that is easily replicated. Jump scares and loud noises are common throughout many of these films, which tend to be released in mass as the years start to reach the autumn season. Sequels and reboots to the major horror franchises are also commonplace for studios, one such example is the Saw franchise. Independent horror films differ from this strategy. Typically they rely on either a unique character or focus on building elements of suspense.
