Abortion Abortion have been around for many years, studied for different societies. It was legal in the United States from the earliest times. In the middle 1800s, states began to pass laws that made abortions illegal. There are two different types of abortion.One is Clinic abortion, and the other one is an abortion pill. Abortions are very common. In fact, 3 out of 10 women in the U.S. have an abortion by the time they are 45 years old. The motive for anti-abortion laws varied from state to state. One of the reasons included fears, that the population would be controlled by the children of the new generation. During the 1800s, all surgical procedures, including abortion, were extremely risky. Hospitals were uncommon, clinicals were unknown, and even the most respected doctors had only basic medical education. Without today's technology, maternal and infant death rates during childbirth were extremely high. The dangers of abortion were similar to the dangers from other surgeries that were not banned. As new scientific methods became more popular in the medical field, that made medical care, much safer, more effective and less infections. But by this time, most women were obligated on getting abortions, had no option but to get illegal practitioners for the surgical procedures. The "back alley" abortion remained a dangerous, often deadly procedure, while areas of legally sanctioned medicine improved dramatically. If you are pregnant, you have options.
