The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, or HIPAA, is a law designed “to improve portability and continuity of health insurance coverage in the group and individual markets, to combat waste, fraud, and abuse in health insurance and health care delivery, to promote the use of medical savings accounts, to improve access to long-term care services and coverage, to simplify the administration of health insurance, and for other purposes.”1 HIPAA mandates that covered entities must employ technological means to ensure the privacy of sensitive information. This white paper intends to study the requirements put forth by HIPAA by examining what is technically necessary for them to be implemented, the technological feasibility of this, and what commercial, off-the-shelf systems are currently available to implement these requirements.
Because of the lack of organization with the health care providers in Canada, the wait times are too long and can cause serious complications to any condition the patient went in for in the first place. This situation of how the health care system can resolve wait times was brought to the government but they continue to ignore the proposals brought to them. It is possible to resolve the problems of wait times without extreme change and expenses in the health care system. The solution is to be found in the reorganization of the health care providers. Lack of assistance in the emergency room can make ones illness to become worse, therefore, causes the patient to be forced to wait in emergency rooms for an extended period of time and when they are finally seen by a health care provider, the outcome is very poor due to lack of registered staff, physicians and proper assessment(Goldman & Macpherson, 2005, p.40). The objective of this paper is to discuss and critically analyze the conditions of emergency waiting rooms. The specific issue this paper intends to explore is extensive and prolonged waiting times for patients accessing health care, patients who need urgent treatment and the vulnerability of elderly patients and children. With an in-depth critique of the barriers to health care and shortcomings of emergency rooms, strategies will be provided to enhance a health care system that makes it more accessible and efficient.
This situation seemed interesting to Vanguard because of the exponential increase in the number of potential clients, whom Vanguard doesn’t have to directly advise and serve about their products and services, combined with the high potential for profitability. The development of this broad qualified sales force could also be done at relatively low development cost. The positive aspects of this alternative are somehow strongly counterbalanced by the fact that huge efforts of mass advertising would be required in order to inform the potential customers about Vanguard’s brand, and over whom Vanguard would have no control in the sale process. Vanguard would also have to face some strong competition in its relationship with the intermediaries, who are not always the most loyal sales representatives.
Robotic Surgery is an emerging technology that utilizes purpose-built robots to perform surgical procedures on patients. At present these robots are not autonomous, they are controlled by a surgeon at all times.
The advanced option makes things easier for the patients. Sometimes one may make a promise and fail to attend due to unavoidable circumstances including financial (Humphries & Eddy, 2000). In fact, when one promises something chances of fulfilling it becomes even slimmer. In the event the patient turns the next day and gets the physician, this improves the delivery. The patient would feel good when their day turns for the help for the clinic. The physician also would have more flexibility in their dealing. They would be dealing one case as it comes rather than waiting for the opportune time which may not finally come to happen. The backlog will be reduced. The most pressing issue and those which are not critical will be given the same attention under this system of advanced system.
First of all, hardware contained within servers, workstations, switches, and routers should be the best compatible option for security software that is to be used. In fact, if a medical center wanted to take this many steps further they could have electronic components made specifically for these types of actions. They could have made for them electronic components and consoles just for their needs, something that is unique and non known to anyone. The company that would make such components would have to be originated in sectors that do not connect to all of the others and that only know what is required for their sole purpose. People who write software should only know what is required and nothing more. It may be possible to produce the effect of encryption without encypting anything at all; so to add encryption to these types of structures has the potential to give encryption a more full effect; at least for temporary timeframes. Software programmers would also contain very limited information; ...
a. A hospital emergency room averages 50 patients per shift. A shift is 8 hours long, and the average patient requires 20 minutes in the exam room.
Emergency room physicians are on the front lines in a crisis, caring for everyone from trauma victims to sick kids. An ability to think quickly and care for a wide variety of patients makes them valuable assets at every hospital. It also brings some perks. When sudden illness or acute injury strikes, patients turn to hospital emergency rooms for immediate medical assistance. An ER doctor, or emergency medicine specialist, is a physician who diagnoses and treats illnesses and injuries in a hospital emergency room or other urgent care setting. Emergency medicine is a financially rewarding career, and it also comes with the reward of saving lives. ER doctors require intensive training to know how to shoulder their intensive responsibilities.
“Wherever the art of Medicine is loved, there is also a love of Humanity,” says Hippocrates. This love is shown through the efforts of those who work and have worked to improve the medical field for so long to better the United States. Throughout the last one-hundred years the health of the nation and the state of our hospitals in the United States has become a big concern. As the people of the United States health decreases the need for an advanced medical field grows. The medical field is already very advanced and has advanced much in the last one-hundred years. Medical records are already a huge part of the medical industry and pretty soon electronic medical records will be a standard in all doctors’ offices and hospitals. These records are still in the integration process so not all doctors and hospitals are using them yet. There needs to be a way to reassure patients that when they have their information entered into electronic records they are safe and that the people who work with those records are handling them properly. Electronic medical records also need to be protected from outside threats as well as any accident that could occur with software or hardware malfunctions. Medical entities need educating to ensure these records are going to be protected.
...t in both direct and indirect ways. Direct sell will include, sell in online forums or use direct mail to reach our customers. When selling directly, we can take the time to showcase our product’s distinct attributes. Before turning sales over to a distributor, we will build a base of direct sales to prove the product will sell. Using an indirect approach, we will persuade stores to carry our products. While more time-consuming, approaching retailers in store or at trade shows gives us more control over how our product is displayed and how it’s presented to customers. For indirect sales incorporate a middleman in some way or another. A distributor’s functions include stocking, ease of ordering and quick delivery with no pioneering sales efforts. Intermediaries have expertise and contacts, but they may require minimum order quantities and an established sales record.

The direct marketing allows building and maintaining a direct, one-to-one method relationship between a company and its customer, and users of its products or services. In the Avon case the “Avon girls” represent the company and creates a very good bond, connecting the seller and buyer together in a very trustful relationship. It is very easy for the seller to persuade the buyer into buying a product, because of the usually relationship that exists between the two parts. In cases where no relationship exists, the vendor can also be able to talk the potential shopper into buying Avon products. Reason for their tremendous success is; high-quality, value oriented products, good relations with the distributors, fulfillment of dreams, and financial freedom.
