Martin Luther The Great Reformer

On November 10, 1483, Martin Luther was born. His parents were Hans and Margaret Luther. Martin came from a poor family. The Luther's were Germans. They lived in the Thuringian Mountains near Eisleben. Martin Luther was still a small baby when his parents moved from Eisleben to Mansfeld, where his father found work in the mines. Martin, his brother, and his three sisters didn't have the easiest childhood to grow up with. Their parents taught them religion. Luther's parents were devout Catholics and their strenuous and even unmerciful discipline of their children, they believed, was the very best for the children's welfare. So when Martin or his siblings did anything wrong, they were beat as a punishment.
Hans Luther wanted to give his children better education than he has himself growing up. They started to teach Martin as soon as they could. Even if he was at home he was always learning. But in school because the schoolteachers were ignorant, he received fifteen whippings one morning at school. Martin referred the name of "school" to "hell and purgatory". When the schoolmasters at Mansfeld were through pounding Latin into Luther with a stick, he was getting ready to go to Magdeburg for school. Because Luther was so poor to have money for his own expenses, Luther had to sing in the streets. It was common for Luther to see other students as poor as him standing in front of wealthy citizen houses. Sometimes they were invited to come in for some food. He stayed in Magdeburg for about one year before moving to Eisenach and going to a school known as The School Of St. George. Ursula Cotta heard Luther singing in the street for money. So she and her Husband, Conrad, invited Luther to come into their beautiful home and share its comforts with them. Then in about May of 1501, Luther enrolled as a student at Erfurt. Then in 1502, he took the degree of Bachelor of Arts and three years later that of Master of Arts.
Luther had been hunted by fears that God's wrath was being stored up against him. Luther didn't look to the Bible for an answer to his burning question.
As a result, Luther burned the letter and other papal documents. Then in 1521, Luther was asked to attend the Diet of Worms, where he would recant what he had written. Once again, he refused. He was strong to his beliefs. Unlike Henry VIII, Luther was not selfish in reforming the Church. For instance, the peasants were one of Luther’s major supporters. They had a list of demands that Luther would try to resolve. He initially backed them up but in 1525 when they turned to violence in a revolt, he exhorted the nobles to slaughter them. Luther could have had all of those supporters who admired him, but instead, he had them slaughtered. Although he could have had the support, he believed violence was not the answer. No matter how many supporters he could have has, his beliefs were always put first. Overall, Martin Luther wanted to reform the Church to create a more simple Christian life as it was in the
Martin Luther was born on November 10, 1483. He was a German monk, priest, professor, theologian and church reformer. His teaching helped to inspire the Reformation, and influenced the doctrines of the Lutheran and Protestant traditions, as well as the course of western civilization. Luther's works and writing helped bring the Middle Ages to a close, and brought about the Modern Era of western civilization. His translation of the Bible furthered the development of a standardized German language. Due to the development of the printing press, his teachings were widely read and influenced many reformers and thinkers. (Peterson 1)
No one can deny, after his Ninety-Five Theses, Martin Luther was on the road to serious reform, but he wasn't always on that track. He was born in 1483, the son of a coal miner and had a strong will from the beginning of his life (Mullett, 26). In his childhood, Luther was sometimes beaten up to 15 times in a morning while attending school. Martin Luther's father had first arranged for him to be a lawyer and began training him for this even at an early age, insisting that he learn Latin (Mullett, 29). In 1505, he received his master's degree and upon his fathers wishes he enrolled in law school at the University of Erfurt. Martin Luther King Jr. grew up in Atlanta; his family status was that of the middle class, he never experienced poverty or hunger like Malcolm did. Martin was raised in a loving and supporting environment. His parents instilled in him the importance of self-respect and self-help. They taught Martin and his other siblings that they could make something out of their lives despite the fact that the color of their skin was black. Martin's father was a prominent preacher for the Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Martin Luther was a man of great thought and constantly went against the feelings and views of other people of his time. Martin Luther was born on November 10th in 1483, in the Saxon town of Eisleben located in Germany. Martin was born of mother Margrethe, who many of his enemies thought of as being a whore and a bath attendant, yet Martin recalled her later on in life as someone who was hardworking and very able and willing to punish him if he had done wrong. Martin Luther grew up in the middle-class range and wasn't born into great wealth like many other great scholars of his time were like such as Girolamo Savonarola, who's family was rich before his birth around Luther’s time. Martin Luther’s father's name was Han's Luder, which later on became Luther, who was a miner and a smelter in which neither made him wealthy in the least. Han's and Luther had a relationship that bounced around, but I will get to that topic in a not so distant paragraph. Martin was brought up in a Christian family and soon after his birth he was baptized, which was a momentous process that can occur. At a young age Martin began school and this started his steps towards becoming a great debater, writer, and preacher. According to Martin Marty, Luther's start as a great speaker and writer began after he learned Rhetoric and this held with him for decades to come. At the beginning Martin's father Hans saw great potential in Luther, as well as wanting him to make a lot of money, and told him that he should take the path in becoming a lawyer. Martin would have been well enough as a lawyer if he had taken the opportunity, but I feel history would be devastatingly different without him as a religious scholar. Thus making allusions to things that happened within the Cold War. There is many allusions to the Cold War in Nineteen Eighty – Four because it is believed that Orwell wrote Nineteen Eighty – Four as an “anti – socialism and anti – communist propaganda campaigns” (Shaw 2). Just like Hitler the Cold War was caused by the socialism Stalin created in Soviet Union; which helped create the idea of Big Brother. Along with, Nineteen Eighty Four shows three nations who are constantly at war. In the war, the nations create fear in the people of their country, they do this through propaganda and terrorizing the people for fear what the country would be if everything changed. Orwell created this allusion based off of the United States and the Soviet Union during the Cold War. In the Cold War, both countries created fear in their people of what the other country might do creating fear of becoming like that country. They created this fear through propaganda and censoring photographs. Soviet Union censoring photographs is similar to Big Brother rewriting the past in its favor. Further, there is an allusion to the spying that happens in Oceania to the spying that happened in the Cold War. Due to both countries spying on each other, the governments began to spy on its people to see if any of them were against their government. Possibly the biggest connection to the Cold War in Orwell’s novel is the idea that people cannot make their own decisions. Nineteen Eighty – Four depicts society where the government controls everything and makes the decisions for everyone. Wealth is not evenly spread, in fact wealth is decided upon your social standing with the government, much like the Inner and Outer
Martin Luther was born to Hans Luder and his wife Margarethe on November tenth, 1483, in Eisleben, Saxony, which was then part of the Holy Roman Empire. Since he was his father’s firstborn, his father wanted him to pursue being a lawyer, which was a good job even at that time. However, since his school focused mainly on persuasive speaking and writing, grammar, and logic, Luther came to despise it. The only aspect of it that he appreciated was that it sparked him into having an early interest in monastic life. Martin Luther protested over the abuses in the Catholic church and challenged the authority of the church. During the reformation, the church was known for selling the indulgences, where they would pay for forgiveness from their sins. Which gave the rich upper-class people the ability to sin all they wanted because all they had to do was pay the church and their sins would have been forgotten. While the lower class or peasants of the country could not have that luxury because of the limited amount of money they had. Luther decided that he would teach that people could win salvation by good work and faith, instead of buying indulgences, also the Christian teachings must be based on the bible, not the pope, mainly because the popes were poorly

To begin with, Martin Luther King Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 15, 1929.2 His father, Martin Luther King Sr. who was a pastor, and his mother Alberta, who was a schoolteacher who raised both King and his two siblings.3 King was very religious because the three generations of men, starting with his great-grandfather, were all preachers. His younger brother and uncle were also preachers. Religion had a big influence on his life. King grew up in a neighborhood of average citizens. No great wealth or possessions, leaders, or anyone of great stature. His best friends were religious, attended Sunday school together and church which King was considered their second home.

Martin Luther, also known as the “Reformator,” was a superior asset in the Protestant Reformation. He was born on November 10, 1483 in the town of Eisleben, which was located in East Germany. Luther’s parents were Hans Luder and Margaretha nee Lindemann. His father was a farmer and later became a copper miner in Mansfeld. Martin Luther’s parents brought him up in the strict environment of the Roman Catholic Church. With his new job in Mansfeld, Hans made the decision to move his family there in 1484. Hans expected Martin to become a lawyer, so Luther went to Erfurt in 1501 to study law. Luther received his master’s degree in 1505. Shortly after this, he felt like law was not the right place for him. Although at first Luther resisted new forms of education, he came to view schools as powerful tools for getting his message and religious teachings across to the people, specifically the youth, of Germany. Following this realization, Luther became one of the most fervent supporters of universal education. The spread of Luther's ideas of religious reform and the spread of schools and educational reform are inextricably linked. For Luther's religious vision to be realized among all people, it became clear that new institutions of learning were essential. In collaboration with scholars and reformers like Phillip Melanchthon, Luther successfully implemented new educational programs and bolstered government support and control of schools.

He wanted to follow the plan God had for him, and spent all of his time in confession.
