1. My career I chose is being a Marine General and my reason for studying this career is my dad is a Marine. He was promoted to general and I would like to be like my dad and carry it on in our family, generation to generation. 2. The Marines were established on November 10, 1775 after they were approved to defend and fight on sea and on land this date marks the birthday of the Marines and their establishment. When the year of 1800 started and 343 recruits enlisted at the beginning of the year and 513 enlisted at the end of the decade. The dress blues that they wear were established in 1798 to represent their tradition there’s something called the blood stripe to honor the fallen comrades. 3. There were 198,427 Marines enlisted on March 31 in 2012 there were 22,253 officers enlisted still the total number of marines enlisted today is 198,427. Most of them are found North America, Albany, Parris Island, Cherry Point, Camp Lejeune, Quantico, Washington D.C., Caribbean, Central and South America, Senegal Africa, Oman, Middle East, Afghanistan, Italy, Serbia, Europe, Germany, and Copenhagen. 4. Their main things are air control, air support, anti-air warfare, aircraft maintenance list, airfield services, ammunition and explosive ordinance, aviation logistics, aviation ordinance. 5. You can be male or female you have to be at least 17 years old, you have to have good health no asthma no health problems you have to be physical and quick also think smart. You have to be able to know what hard work is and you also have to have good morals. You have to be good on the field you have to have good aptitude while aiming for accuracy. My dad didn’t enter the Marines for the money my dad entered the Marine to protect and to serve the Marines USMC O.I.F that stands for Operation Iraqi Freedom for the Marines you have to be mentally and physically strong. The average salary for a Marine is about 2500 hundred dollars just depends on what rank you are and how you got that rank. An exceptional salary for me would be at least 3,500 hundred dollars a month but that’s if I have family if I didn’t then I would want at least 1,500 hundred dollars a month. The benefits of earning the title as a Marine is you are supported by the Marines brotherhood, these benefits include financial resources, family health care and insurance, housing and facilities, education, travel, vacation, and recreation. John Adams, the 2nd president, reconstituted the Navy and with that the Marines. New ships were built and sailors and Marines were recruited to man them. They fought against pirates in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. This had the un-intended effect of preparing them for the 2nd war with Great Britain from 1812 to 1814.
