Since I begin my study in ELC, three weeks have passed and I have learned a lot of knowledge which will be very useful in my university life from PEP course, such as: how to write discussion essay, how to take-notes and how to avoid plagiarism.
Firstly, it is needed to say that I used to be a desultory girl. I always arrange play in the first place and study in the last, as a result of this reason, sometimes I sleep very late in order to finish my homework in time. In such a case, I usually go to school tried and lack of energy to keep concentrate in class. After about one week in PEP course, I decided to make a timetable which has a particular arrangement in everyday. At first, it is very helpful for me to arrange my time. Because I need not to think about what I should do next, besides, according to timetable, I can start to do my homework in a short time. However, day after day, I find the timetable is not very suitable sometimes. For example, I had originally intended to go to the State Library every Friday afternoon to ask some question for a tutor. However, I only went there once, because the time for me is extremely limited, and I need to do so many assignments. Therefore, I add some flexible time, which not only can be used to study but also can be used to relax, to make my schedule more feasible. After such an arrangement, it seems more reasonable for me to follow the schedule.
Secondly, it is worth noting that I have given a report-review this Friday. Without forgot any materials which I had prepared, the process went smoothly. Moreover, I found that most of the classmate’s attentions were focusing on my report. Because we exchanged our experiences very well, in addition, after class, some of the classmates told me that my report let them feel fresh. However, when I look back my report, I find sometimes I just waited a few seconds after I asked a question. If nobody answers the question, I will give my own opinion. For this reason, only two or three people could answer my question, other classmates even not have the enough time to think about the answer.

On any given day, my time regardless of how planned it is by making lists can be thrown off track due to usually a sick child/pet. No matter how hard I try, I know my kids will get sick and they will expect me to take care of. Since I cannot usually control when that will happen, it’s important that I take advantage of what I can control, such looking ahead at assignments that will need my attention to plan adequate time to complete assignments a head of time, instead of waiting till the last minute. When I know what to expect I can make plans. Another
...rs tend to overestimate the degree of unpleasantness of a task” (Lay, 46). Procrastination is a problem that when left unchecked can cause serious problems in every aspect of a person’s life. The solution for students can be as easy as sticking to a goal or as hard as denying themselves a prize when they missed the deadline on a project. The type of solution a person uses depends on what works best for that student, but a schedule to help stay goal positioned never hurt.

The problem of time management can be said to be universal not only affecting students but also other people in careers. This problem is seen to transition from a person’s life from different cadres of his or her engagement specifically from home, school and at work. It is also a problem that is internal and not external.
When it comes to our personal and professional lives, Managing your time efficiently should be a mastered ability. As a student, this could have a huge effect on performance and grades. Seeing that Time Management is imperative when it comes to college and success, recognizing bad habits, should be one of the first obstructions immediately eliminated from your daily schedule. Create new habits if you tend to procrastinate and start planning ahead to manage your most important priorities. According to David Allen (2001),"Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity" (p.59) "changes in the way you clarify and organize all things that command your attention-could represent a significant shift in how you approach some key aspects of your day to day work." Setting up deadlines and completing your assignments a few days before the due date will eliminate the procrastination stage. Creating a list with the most important priorities first, will help sort out your assignments and eliminate stress and feeling overwhelmed.
Prioritizing my time is a task that I need to work on, turning things on time and keeping up to date with assignments is difficult. I usually procrastinate and leave things for the last-minute, and causes my work to be less effective than what I can carry out. Studying for tests is a struggle, because I get distracted easily and get frustrated with all the amount of work ,so I leave the work for later. Some management strategies I will use, are breaking up large project into pieces and when I have a difficult time getting started I will do the easiest task first. I prioritize my life with most important to least important. I give the most concern and time to people who are important and events that I know are more influential to my life. Personal issues negatively impact me and I ignore the problems but It also brings more problems because I don’t resolve the problem at the moment.

In the workplace, time management is an important factor in everyone’s day-to-day work. If a person’s time is well managed, it is possible to achieve a greater amount in a shorter space of time. How effectively people manage their time has a major influence on aspects of their working lives and their personal lives. Effective time management can have a hugely positive effect on a person, it can lead to a focused and disciplined mentality, giving a higher level of productivity, greater efficiency and an all round positive attitude in life. This benefits the individual, their team, the company they work for and also their friends and family. An example of this is an employee who prioritises their jobs at the start of the day; this gives them a structured day and ensures they have time to complete all of the important jobs. However, if time is poorly managed it can lead to inefficiencies, work overload and added pressure, this could eventually lead on to other issues such as stress.
PMBOK guide defines TM as the “Use of available time and your own productivity along with the appropriate planning and management of the project schedule” highlighting the link between Time Management and productivity and its closely knit relationship to scope and cost areas. Max Wideman presents a wider definition for TM as the “function required to maintain appropriate allocation of time to the overall conduct of the project through the successive stages of its natural life-cycle, by means of the processes of time planning, time estimating, time scheduling, and schedule control.” Ultimately at it’s core however, TM is about time, its planning and control during all stages of the project. A further look into Wideman’s definition of TM by means of identifying its importance throughout the entire project life-cycle (Initiation, planning, execution, controlling and close-out) is required. It is hoped that by analysing how TM tools and techniques can positively and negatively effect the different stages of the Project life cycle a better understanding of productivity, TM and project success will result.
To begin with, I changed my time management in order to balance between study and entertainment. During high school, I had a poor time management. I attended school for seven hours and tutorial classes after school every day. After that, I had to do tons of homework such as book report, essay and assignment. Although it was late after finishing all my work, I surfed the Internet instead of going to sleep. I always thought that I still have much time left, so I procrastinated all the time. I slept only five hours a day, so I fell asleep in class. As I was not concentrated in class, I missed many important points from the teacher. I had to use more time to study after school so as to catch up. After having the poor experience, I understand the importance of having a good time management, so I tried to plan my work in the college. During college, I have much more free time. I have classes four to five hours a day and the rest is my free time, hence, it is important to have a good time management. I have to make sure that I do not use up my time in surfing the Internet. My goal of attending
Another important difference in students time management that is mainly affected by the learners motivation in school and at university. The motivation of school students is comes from parents and teachers, who reward or punish students for keeping up their studies. Students are unexpected to plan or do anything besides follow the timetable and study schedule from teachers. When a student moves on to undertake university study at undergraduate level, there is demanded to be more self-motivated and independent learning. Such as plan a learning programme that takes into consideration time available for study. As Marshall and Rowland (1993, 41) shown that, ¡¥if students are studying at a distance in tertiary education are needed to be particularly careful in setting priorities and balance a certain time between work and study, family and social life.
As more and more people are getting into a hectic lifestyle, a need to have a good time management techniques that built-in part of your life, you have to follow some simple requirements. You no longer have the luxury to waste valuable time in your day.
