You can go through any school in the country and ask if any students know who Rosa Parks is. The majority of these students will say that she refused to give up her seat up to a non colored man. These students really don't know how impactful her decision had on the United States of America. She was really the main component of the civil rights movement and that’s why she is known as the “mother of the civil rights movement”. She stood up for what she believed in, and in doing that she sparked and created the stepping stones to the civil rights movement era.
Rosa Parks was a african american civil rights rights movement activist, and she was known as the “mother of the freedom movement”. Rosa Louise McCauley was born in tuskegee, Alabama her father James McCauley worked as a carpenter and Leona McCauley was a teacher. At the age of eleven she attended a industrial school for girls, it taught her the meaning of self worth and pride and to take advantage of any opportunity that presents itself. Most of her life was greatly influenced by Jim Crow laws in the south which segregated white and black people in almost every part of their daily lives. When she attended school, there would be busing for the white children to their school, but she would have to walk to a school because of the color of her skin. After finishing at the montgomery industrial school, Rosa went on to continue her education at Alabama State teachers college (Hull). Rosa then married Raymond Parks were they both shared very similar views when it came to civil rights. Even after Rosa Parks incident she continued to fight for african american rights, and as well provided opportunities for young black kids to do something positive with their lives that is worth doing. Because of her decision to speak the truth she really gave the future generations including ours to live a life not worrying about being segregated but to have equality. Throughout all the great civil rights leaders, I personally believe that Martin Luther King was the greatest of them all. What king achieved during the little over a decade that he worked in civil rights was remarkable. "There are few men of whom it can be said their lives changed the world" from wikipedia. Rosa Parks is one of many who have changed the lives of African Americans. Parks was an outstanding woman who stood up for what she believed in, and she never let anyone tell her different. Parks was a kind hearted, selfless person and for that she will always be remembered. Parks endured many hardships, not only during her childhood but also during her adult life, and gave rise to the civil rights movement through a boycott.

As she traveled on the bus back home, a Caucasian male approached and asked her to get up from her seat to go to the back of the bus because he wanted to sit there. Throughout King’s life, he showed everyone how he believed equality should be acquired. With his peaceful protests and amazing speeches, he influenced people both during his time and after he passed. Many believe that King’s work in the Civil Rights Movement was the final push that America needed to finally respect people no matter their skin color.

Rosa Parks was a black American who it has been said, started the black civil rights movement. Rosa Parks was fro Montgomery, and in Montgomery they had a local low that black people were only allowed to sit in a few seats on the public buses and if a white person wanted their set, they would have to give it up. On one bus journey Parks was asked to move for a white person, she refused and the police were call and she was arrested and convicted of breaking the bus laws.
