Lord Howe Island is more commonly known as the most beautiful island in the Pacific, and is so unique that it is one of (only) four islands chosen as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Lord Howe Island Group was listed as a World Heritage in 1982 in recognition of its outstanding natural beauty and its incredible biodiversity. Two thirds of the island is a Permanent Park Preserve, and in 1998 the ocean surrounding the island was declared a Marine Park. Lord Howe Island is considered to be an amazing example of an island environment developed from underwater volcanic activity, having an uncommon variety of sceneries, flora and fauna. The high amount of widespread species provides a wonderful image of free evolutionary processes at work.
The Island is best to visit in February as it is the warmest, with temperatures ranging from 21° to 25°C. It is also the month with the lowest amount of rainfall, and largest amount of sun. In February it is warmer on Lord Howe Island simply because of the fact that it is in the Southern Hemisphere resulting in it being summer while the Northern Hemisphere is having winter weathering conditions, which proves to be another great reason to visit if you are American, European or Asian.
Flora and Fauna
Lord Howe Island has over 130 species of bird, while the harbouring coral reef is home to over 500 species of fish as well as 90 different corals. The reef is one of the tidiest reefs because the cleanest ocean on the planet washes it.

What with its amazing beauty, gorgeous beaches, clean waters and fabulous flora and fauna, Lord Howe Island makes the perfect place to vacation. Climbing the mountains, snorkelling the reefs or tanning on one of the many beaches, a luxurious place for all geographers to come together and admire the earth. The island has so many unique qualities that even UNESCO thought it to be worthwhile. The animals are special; some only found on the island, and the plants are literally glowing with life. Lord Howe is beckoning to be explored and teaming with wildlife. Rain or shine, the beauty of Lord Howe Island is breathtaking, even if the temperature is slightly lower than preferred. It is a small paradise in a large world; the only question is why not to go there. So grab a ticket, board a plane and head on over, the island is waiting.
The island is about 4 square miles and is today a place for tourism in the great lakes. Many thousands of years ago though this was a little piece of land with bluffs reaching high above its surroundings and was a merely a small piece of land surrounded by water. It was because of these bluffs the appearance of the island resembled a turtle and led to it being named “The Great Turtle” (Piljac, 1998). Currently the island reaches several hundred feet above the lake and it’s because of this geography that many nations saw this as a perfect military post and would be used over and over again throughout its history as such.

Neoland is a large island consisting of five providences with a population of 62, 000. Neoland Island is located in the far north of the equator; it is surrounded by the Arctic Ocean.. The climate is dry with an average of minus fifty degrees Fahrenheit. Neoland is ruled by an independent government. The island is well known for its rugged coast lines rich in plankton, exotic fish and mammals. It has diverse mountain vegetation and many types of whales such as the white whale, pilot whale and sperm whale; the citizens’ favorite hobby is whale watching. Neoland Island is made of many small communities or villages, major occupation is fishing. For entertainment, the island offers rock, pop, jazz and traditional church concerts and golfing.

In 1584, explorers Phillip Amanda and Arthur Barlowe were the first people to set eyes on Roanoke Island. It is explained to be characterized by thick marshlands and stands of live oaks teeming with wildlife. The explorers were sent there by Sir Walter Raleigh. HE was a poet soldier and a statesman. The trip was for one specific reason, to search for an ideal location for settlement.

Coral reefs are huge structures made of limestone that is deposited by living things. There are thousands of species that live in coral reefs, but only a fraction actually produces the limestone that builds the reef. Coral reefs support over 25% of all known marine species. They are one of the most complex ecosystems on the planet, and are home to over 4,000 different types of fish, 700 species of coral and thousands of other plants and animals.
Haida Gwaii is composed of many small islands consisting of a multitude of inlets, rivers, and beaches (Dalzell 13, and Horwood and Parkin 13). These, more than 150, islands create an isolated archipelago totalling in approximately 9940 km2. Freshwater systems, inlets, waterways, rivers, and lakes are scattered throughout the islands (www.gohaidagwaii.ca). Areas, such as the Skidegate Inlet, between the lowland Graham Island and the narrow, steep-sloped Moresby Island, provide broad view of the landscape (Horwood and Parkin 52). The 100 km wide (www.gohaidagwaii.ca), Hecate Strait, dividing Haida Gwaii with the mainland, is shallow and temper-mental with shallow areas, huge waves, rock overfalls, and tide rips (Dalzell 14).
The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most fragile ecosystems in the world, it protects coastlines from the dangerous effects of tropical storms and wave action, it is also home to more than 11,ooo marine life. It is one of the world’s largest coral reefs, so large in fact that you can see if from space.
All over this planet from the ocean floor to the forests and jungles some form of Fungi can be present. Though they can be found in many different forms such as mold yeast, the most commonly known is the Mushroom. Found in the wild on dead plant and animal matter, the mushroom is nothing more then the fruit of a fungus spore and can be a nutrisous food. There is a specific Genus of these Fungi that have a unique chemical inside of them. Psilocybin or its chemical name Dihydrogen Phospate is a naturally occuring compound with strong Psychoactive properties.

Natural has its own world in St. Martin. The island is about two kilometres long and the deep blue water all around it is outstanding to watch.
