It is the story of Blanche de la Force and her journey to understanding the meaning behind her unusual fear and discovering her vocation in life, and ultimately a story of bravery and heroism. After a traumatic birth, young Blanche is forever scarred, and her external expression of this ordeal is an irrational fear at nearly anything. The second and third stanza describe the agony the speaker is in, and the long lines work to add a sense of longing and the outpouring emotion the speaker is struggling with. Society tends to misjudge people base on their appearances instead of their personality. This can be seen in the play Cyrano De Bergerac by Edmond Rostand. In which Roxane represents that vile aspect of society. Roxane is attracted to Christian based on his looks, and under minds Cyrano because of his appearance. Society misjudgment of people cause oppression on an individual and it is from oppression and misjudgment f character that causes self consciousness to be born. Cyrano exhibits this self consciousness by helping Christian. Such oppression or self conscious aids to form magnificent characteristics attributes such as the ones portrayed by Cyrano throughout the novel. After all of its societies misjudgment that causes Cyrano to be the character that he is.
The title of this poem makes us think that this is going to be a love story with him and a significant other. But these expectations are not fulfilled by the text starting in the introductory epigraph. The title is completely ironic because this is not a “love song”, yet this story is about a depressed, lonely and weak man. The title makes us think that this poem is going to be a serious love song about J. Alfred Prufrock, but instead it is more of a fake love song. From the third line of the poem he shows a man who is unable to communicate, much less sing, “love songs” to anyone.

Soon after, she realizes that she has made a big mistake, even if those moments of sex made her happy. She has to live with a disease for the rest of her life. She is not fully understanding about it until a significant amount of time passes (thirty years in between the two illustrations). If the two illustrations were not presented for this poem, the readers would not gain an understanding of the poem fully. Blake tells the continuation of the poem and storyline without using literature. The moral of the poem is even if one makes a mistake and catches a life-threatening disease, it does not define who they are. Overall, the woman caught the undesireable infection and she learned to live with it.

In that passage she is talking of herself, she was forced into marriage and now lives a life she wishes she never took in the first place. This is what the poet intends to disclose. And love songs, as many expect, must be very sweet and romantic. Love must be connected with something pleasant. Yet the love song of Prufrock seems very sentimental and sorrowful. The first stanza of the poem presents an unpleasant sight to us.“when the evening is spread out against the sky, Like a patient etherized upon a table”, Prufrock perceives the sunset as a patient oozing on the operation table. Through Prufrock’ s“stream of consciousness”,“ half-deserted streets, cheap hotel, dust restaurants”-the living conditions of the poor appear before him. The situations and the atmosphere are not in harmony with a real love song. This reveals the state of mind of Prufrock, who is not happy, but in a melancholy mood. Throughout Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables the main character, Jean Valjean went through multiple turning points. Jean Valjean was once an honest tree pruner, but was arrested for a stealing a loaf of bread. After serving nineteen years in prison, he became calloused and despises the world for what it did to him. He traveled to the mountain town of Dinge, where a virtuous bishop lived. Valjean attempted to stay in an inn, but is kicked out due to him being an ex-convict. Valjean stayed with the bishop, Myriel, but had mixed feelings with the thought of stealing from the kind man. Valjean even considered murdering the Bishop but fled with the silver into the night. Valjean is caught and returned to the bishop, however the result of the visit
