Paulo Coelho - is a Brazilian lyricist and novelist. He was born in August 1947. He published a total of sixteen books - novels, annotated anthologies, collections of short stories-parables. (Paulo) When Paulo was seven years, he entered the Jesuit school of San Ignacio in Rio de Janeiro. ("Paulo Coelho") Soon he started to hate compulsory religious rituals, however, in spite of his aversion to the prayers and masses, he received at this school and lessons learned. It is there, Paulo discovered his true calling: to be a writer. (Alef) His first literary award was handed to him in a school poetry contest, and his sister Sonia recalls how she received the prize for his work, which is found in the trash. ("Today") However, to his parents their son’s future was seen differently. (Paulo) They wanted him to become an engineer, and tried to restrain his desire to prove himself in the literary field. Inflexibility of the parents piqued Paulo spirit of contradiction, and he began to violate accepted rules of behavior in the family. (Paulo) His father found his antics as the signs of mental illness. At age seventeen Paulo twice placed in a psychiatric hospital, where several times subjected to electroshock therapy. (Paulo) Thereafter Paulo briefly became involved with the actors of one troupe and began working as a journalist. (Paulo) Little-later, before dedicating his life completely to literature, he joined the movement of amateur theater, that time he was working as a theatre director and actor at the same time. (Paulo) In the eyes of the inhabitants of the time, the theater was a hotbed of immorality and promiscuity. ... He is a man quite extraordinary for “courage being”. His outlook is very close to a majority of his readers. I think, everyone should read his book “Alchemist”, because it reminds us of what we have forgotten, unfortunately, we forget so much important.

It compelled me to think about how things could have been. What if the viceroy had fully succeeded? What if he had never tried to change Lima’s political, social, or architectural structure? And how might that have affected such a cultural epicenter of that time period? He gives the audience an opportunity to nearly relive the event, but also experience a part of the event aside from the natural disasters that were just as effective to the people of Lima, their future, and the future of their city.
The knowledge and universal understanding derivative from a journey can leave the traveller positively enlightened. In Coelho’s story, Santiago is faced with recurring dreams which lead him to ‘’traverse the unknown’’ in search of a treasure buried in Egypt, the metaphor for universal connection, and in doing so, comes to the unrelenting realisation of spiritual transcendence. After arriving at the assumed geographical location of the treasure ‘’several figures approached him’’. They demand the boy keep searching for this treasure as they are poor refugees and in need of money, but as Santiago does, he finds nothing. Then, after relentless digging through the night ‘’as the sun rose, the men began to beat the boy’’ , finally relenting with the truth, Santiago reveals his dreams to the travellers. In doing so, Santiago finds out that these men had also been faced with recurring dreams measured around the place where the boy had undergone his own, both relative to hidden treasure. Alfredo Corchado — is the author of the book named " Midnight in Mexico:A Reporter's Journey through a Country's Descent into Darkness”. We are, probably, all interested in finding out the facts, news, and gossips about Mexico. This country was always associated with something mysterious. For me personally, the title of the book seemed to be very gripping, I was interested in revealing the secrets of life in Mexico, thus I decided to read this book. I was really curious, what can Alfredo Corchado tell me about the life in this country, the country, where the constant massacre is the picture, people used to see. In his book, the author tells the reader about the real situations, which took place in Mexico, reveals the secrets of the people’s lives and tells the story from the “inside”. He describes the way he lives his life, and does his work. The " Midnight in Mexico: A Reporter's Journey through a Country's Descent into Darkness” is a memoir. Author tries to transform his own experience into the story line. Corchado shows the reader the darkest episodes of Mexican society, while relying on his own experience.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez, author of Love in the Time of Cholera, depicts his characters by having them act in certain ways, in ways of love and care towards others. Each character acts certain ways to certain people, either to gain respect, love, friendship or hatred. Marquez’s character Florentino Ariza, is desperately in love with Fermina Daza, a beautiful young lady (early in the novel), who promises him her hand in marriage then breaks that promise by marrying Dr. Juvenal Urbino. Although heartbroken Ariza’s love for Fermina would still continue over many long years, thus showing how much he was in love with her.
Juan Rulfo utilizes the experience of the reader as they progress together through Pedro Paramo as an allegory for Juan Preciado’s journey and as a mechanism to emphasize the meaningless of time. Reader response enhances the effect of structural peculiarities, setting, and time distortion in order to more completely convey the message of the novel. This interaction between reader and text brings the town of Comala to life far more effectively than a standard, chronological narrative could.
The author Gabriel Garcia Marquez wrote Chronicle of a Death Foretold that involves magical realism and most importantly a murder which the book mainly revolves around. Which is based on a true murder that happened in columbia. (Courtney Green). For the main points that are to be brought out of this is the interesting background on Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and what influenced him to write this book about magical realism and a murder, then to mention what happened in his culture that influenced him into writing this book and the connection of his culture that it brings it into the book itself.

Mahatma Gandhi was the main leader in helping India become independent through the principles of non violence, self-rule, and the unity of Hindus and Muslims. His full name was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, but he was given the name Mahatma later on in his life. He wanted to see an united India without the rule of the British Empire. He accomplished this with passive resistance or resistance by non violence because he wanted to show that violence is not always the best answer.
