Leonardo Da Vinci conceived many of today’s modern wonders hundreds of years before their creation. He devised such devices as the automated cart (car), the helical airscrew (helicopter), and a tank-like structure used to transport men during combat. Leonardo Da Vinci was not just an inventor, but a painter, musician, scientist, engineer, mathematician, and writer. Da Vinci was an accomplished man, and succeeded in many fields of work. He once stated, “It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.” His paintings are some of the most famous in the world, and his understanding of science and nature far exceeded that of others in his time. Leonardo Da Vinci is one of the greatest minds of the Common Era (0-2013).
