November 22nd 1963 changed America forever. November 22nd brought fear to America but later brought hope. On November 22nd three shots were fired from the Texas school book depository killing president Kennedy. Later the investigation led to finding the assassin and his motives. Today investigators believe that the lone assassin of Kennedy was Lee Harvey Oswald. However through analysis and eye witnesses we can prove that, although Oswald was the assassin he did not act alone.

John F. Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917 in Brookline Massachusetts. Before Kennedy was in office he was first in the military. “Kennedy was a commander of motor torpedo boats during World War II in the South Pacific” (Burner 5). After being in the military Kennedy started his career in Office. He first represented Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives. “After being in the House of Representatives Kennedy then served for the U.S. senate from 1953 to 1960” (Burner 5). In 1961 Kennedy was elected president of the United States making him the youngest president America ever had and the only Catholic.

Kennedy became the 35th president of the United States after Eisenhower. During Kennedy’s presidency America had many great accomplishments. Kennedy took part in the Bay of Pigs invasion, building of the Berlin Wall, and the African American civil rights movement. The most important accomplishment to America Kennedy took part in was the space race by initiating the Apollo project which took the first man to the Moon. At the flourish of Kennedy’s presidency he decided to go to Dallas Texas to a Hispanic conference and a conference that was held at the world trade center but Kennedy didn’t know what would happen to him once he got to Dallas.

Kennedy was riding in the motorcade on his way to the conference when the shots started firing once the motor cade got on Elm Street. In the motor cade was Jackie Kennedy, the president, governor John Conally and his wife. At 12:30 PM three shots were fired the last one having a fatal outcome. The first shot fired hit Kennedy’s throat, the other his upper back and the fatal shot which hit Kennedys head. The motorcade than rushed to parkland hospital where Kennedy was pronounced dead. Only 46 years old Kennedy was the youngest president to die in office. After his assassination, investigations led to lee Harvey Oswald and later confirmed that Oswald was the assassin.
