I opened my eyes and they focused on the strange ceiling above me, I felt the heat from Jake’s body next to mine and that’s when I remembered everything. That’s when I realized that I had no idea what time it was and I’m sure Alice had called my cell about three hundred times. I still had to fill her in on Edward being Jake’s ex’s baby daddy.
Carefully I pulled myself out from under Jake’s arm; luckily it seemed he was a pretty heavy sleeper. I prayed that Billy hadn’t returned or my exit would be more than awkward. I grabbed my clothes off the floor throwing them on, knowing I looked like a disheveled mess. Once I was dressed I snuck out of the room looking for paper and a pen to write Jake a note. I found a pad of paper next to the telephone and began scribbling my note.
~Jake
Went home. Call me when you wake up.
Love, Bella.
Sneaking back into Jake’s bedroom, I paused. I took in his sleeping form and realized how much I didn’t think I could live without him. Was it possible to only know someone for a short time but realize how important they are to you? I gently kissed Jake on the forehead before placing the note on the empty pillow next to him, taking one last glance I silently made my way out of the bedroom.
I slipped on my shoes and grabbed my purse and headed out the front door, only to be greeted by Leah Clearwater who was wheeling Billy up the front walk.
“Bella?” Her questioning tone caused my face to turn three different shades of red. Would she know? Would she figure it out? What kind of excuse could I make for coming out of Jake’s house?
“Hi Leah.” Looking down at the sidewalk I scampered past both her and Billy, this was not how I wanted to meet Jake’s Father. Scurrying out of his house with the obvious po...

...ing wrong?” I could feel the lump being to form in my throat.
“Jake. Listen. Bella was in a car accident.. she’s at..”
“What? Is she ok?” My voice was frantic and I was already slipping my shoes on.
“Listen to me Jake. She’s unconscious but she’s stable. She’s at Forks Community Hospital.”
I raced out of my room grabbing the keys to my dad’s truck, getting a questioning glace from both him and Leah. “Bella was in an accident..” I mumbled to them both making my way out the front door, almost forgetting Seth was still on the phone.
“I’m on my way Seth, I’ll meet you there..” I was just about to snap my cell phone shut.
“Jake!” Seth was screaming. “Edward is there.”
Anger mixed with the worry that already filled my body, I didn’t even bother to ask why when I snapped my phone shut and climbed into my dad’s truck. I was going to make it to Forks in record time.
The sound of ice swerving in the crystal clear glass echoed through my ear. I was at the Old Susy’s place regretting the decision I took for Lennie. I drank until noon and went back to the ranch. As I entered, I noticed everyone was looking at me with deep concern in their eyes. I wasn't in the mood to talk so I went straight to my bed. I heard Candy’s footsteps inch closer to me.
“Yes, it is me, no need to whisper though.” She stated, playing around with the hem of her shirt. “I need to talk to you.” She said plainly and Philip kept blinking his eyes, wondering when she would vanish again.
It’s late Friday night, Rachel has just finished grading papers. She leaves the school and heads for Phillies, knowing Jacob will meet her there she stops to give a homeless man some change. Little does she know, he has shed his dirty coat to reveal a beautiful suit and is wiping the grime off of his face. He wants that girl’s watch so bad he can taste it. She walks into the cafe and sits at an empty seat. The man waits a few minutes before placing a hat on his head, walking inside, and sitting as far away from the girl as possible. It’s just a matter of time.
Jake goes to a cafe and meets Georgette, a beautiful woman with an awful smile whom Jake finds boring. Jake takes Georgette to BAL, a dance club and while there, he meets Lady Brett Ashley, the "love of his life" and she is also an alcoholic nymphomaniac. Cohn shows up and also gets infatuated with Brett. However, Brett leave with Jake and Cohn is now extremely jealous, while Georgette is left alone but later leaves with someone. Jake and Brett ride around Paris talking about how they want to be together but can not. Jake goes home later that night, thinks about Brett and ends up crying himself to sleep. "This was Brett that I had felt like crying about. Then I thought of her walking up the street and stepping into the car, as I had last seen her, and of course in a little while I felt like hell again." (34). He wakes up at 4 am to the sound of a drunken Brett arguing with the landlord of Jake's building. She gets up to his apartment but soon leaves and instead, asks Jake to meet her the next day.
There it was. I heard the soft, barely audible squeak of the third to stop stair. I freeze, every muscle tense, silently going into panic mode. Red lights flashed in my mind, as I slowly clicked off my flashlight. I was completely soaked, as the air conditioning had quit working. This normally wouldn't bother me, but it was July and I was smothering in my warm quilt, my plush blanket, and my flannel sheets. I was red faced and breathing hard, but it was made worthwhile with the promise of finishing the Hunger Games that night. Without these, the bright light of my reading light would be seen from the hall. I could've shut my door, but then I wouldn't here my Mom, creeping up to check on
“Come back,” I yelped as I dressed quicker than I had previously thought possible. As soon as I came outside I didn’t spot him, thus I began to search. After frisking through my yard for twenty minutes, I still couldn’t find him. I’m usually a stolid boy, yet today I broke into tears.
Jenna! I couldn’t tell who was trying to wake me up. Jenna! Why were they in my room? Jenna! I feel started to feel like there was an anchor pulling me down to the ground. Jenna! I opened my eyes only to realize that I am was not in my room, but under a desk. Miss White was crouched down in front of me and telling kids to move the desks so the nurse could bring the wheelchair in. My head was being split open. I couldn’t focus on what was happening around me.
It was about five hours later that Nick appeared in the doorway with the girl. His hand grabbing her elbow again. She looked so scared. Her brown eyes darker with fear and she was nervously squeezing her hands into fists. Nick had annouced the girl was up in order to get my attention, but it managed to get the attention of Hayden and Cayden too. I got up from the couch and walked over to stand infront of her. My eyes met hers for a second and I smiled before pointing at Nick.
“Looks like the apple didn't fall far from the weirdo tree.” Whispers Bella towards Jake.
We were supposed to meet on the Brooklyn Bridge at 11 pm. We had only been New York for 12 hours and the plan had already turned into a disaster. The night was cool and dark, stars like pinpricks in a black blanket of sky. Traffic noise was the only thing I could hear besides the relentless pounding of my heart. Something had happened; I grappled for my phone and frantically tried calling him and texting him, trying to get a hold of him in any way I could. Mason looked up from his usual disguise of reading the newspaper and raised his eyebrows. Then I saw him realize; Leo was gone. The love of my life had disappeared.
“Then I heard Veronica’s scream coming from her room. I am not a-hundred percent sure how it happened, but I think ‘cause I wanted to git in her room, and the door was locked, my arm went through it.”
I scrunched my nose in distain as I slid into the skirt. I buttoned up my top with a frown and slid on my blazer before grabbing my tie And stuffing it into my bag. I rushed out the door with my bag in one hand and my shoes in the other toward Karasuno High school.
"No, no, no" she spoke as she ran about the wreckage looking for the others that was with her in the wreck.
An entire minute went by before I was able to unfreeze and run to the telephone. I stared at it and remembered that Cindy had left the money for the phone bill on the table before she had left. It had been there for a week since I had been procrastinating to pay it. With Kitty’s screams still resonating through the streets and into my corridor, I tried figure out another plan. I stared at my own hands for a moment and then ran out into the hallway of the apartment. I must have banged on every single door on my floor; I heard whispers and foot-steps but no one came out to help. No one ever answered me because they knew I had night terrors. I ran back to my apartment
“No, you hurt her and Bella deserves someone to love her.” Suddenly, pain tore through my body as I screamed at the two men before me. “I WILL NOT LEAVE HER!” Then, my trembling worsened as my fury
