About Jaipur
Jaipur is also popularly known as the Pink City of India, and currently a prime destination wedding.The city which was once the capital city of the Royals is now the capital of Rajasthan. It is located 260km from Delhi and 240 km from Agra and forms the golden triangle of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.
Jaipur is synonymous with the imagery of polo playing royals, princes and princesses. Set amidst a dazzling backdrop of ancient forts such as Nahargarh, Amer, Jaigarh and Moti Doongari, Jaipur stands testimony to the legendary tales of love, romance, chivalry and valour. Jaipur was founded in 1727 by Sawai Jai Singh and the city is the result of a collaborative effort between Sawai Jai Singh who had a strong grounding in science and astrology and Vidyadhar Bhattacharya who was appointed Chief architect by the King. Jaipur’s architecture is came into existence on the classical basis of principles of Vastu Shastra and similar classical treatise.

The author of the story was born in 1967 in London, and soon after she moved to Rhode Island in the United States. Although Lahiri was born in England and raised in the United States and her parent’s still carried an Indian cultural background and held their believes, as her father and mother were a librarian and teacher. Author’s Indian heritage is a strong basis of her stories, stories where she questions the identity and the plot of the different cultural displaced. Lahiri always interactive with her parents in Bengali every time which shows she respected her parents and culture. As the author was growing up she never felt that she was a full American, as her parents deep ties with India as they often visited the country. Most of Lahiri’s work focused on the Indian American culture and the story “Interpreter in Maladies” is a set of India and part of United States.
The Mauryan Empire was a very intriguing empire, with rulers of different beliefs and ways of ruling, as well as antithetical ways that the rulers gained and maintained their power. Important events occurred during this period of time that affected future generations. The Empire’s people mainly had a Buddhist religion. My sail was set from Delhi, on a Rajasthan Roadways bus to Jaipur and then from Jaipur to Ajmer. The frequency and timing of buses are good while there are numerous trains connecting Ajmer to most parts of the country.

Urbanisation in India has shown significant increase in the past two decades and there has been a considerable change in the people thinking and ways to look at social and global issues. Also the growth of Indian economy has improved a lot in the said duration. Is this change important specially in a country where agriculture has been a backbone and are we justifying with the nature and is the urbanisation not creating the gap between the different sections of people. All these have forced me to make a thorough study of the subject to analyse in real terms issues relating to urbanisation in India and its future impact on the social and cultural heritage of this country.
