Recommended: Gun control measures

When violent gun crimes are committed, blame is placed on scapegoats such as: the media, the parents, and the music. But where does blame truly lie? The lack of stringent gun laws allows these violent crimes to continue. Ultimately, an individual makes the final decision concerning the action he or she takes, but laws need to be in place to curb certain behaviors. When an individual commits a crime using a firearm, the first thing that goes through peoples’ minds, is why? What the majority of people do not understand is that sometimes there is no reason why. The human mind is a complex structure, and there is no algorithm that can be used to determine what action a human being will take. Although there is no formula that can be produced to predict the rate of crime in the United States, gun laws should be reformed, as well as strictly enforced, to reduce the chances of violent crimes associated with firearms.
America’s history and culture prevent the government from strictly regulating gun laws, which is necessary to reduce violence in its society. Society is not a chemical equation that can be solved. There is no formula that can be used to foresee what a society or an individual will do. Since “human behavior is, by its nature, indeterministic and therefore unpredictable”( Cziko), there is really nothing that can be done that can totally eliminate what people will do; however it is the government’s duty to set up precautionary measures to lessen the chance of destruction. The majority of our countries’ destruction comes from firearms. With firearms being such a prevalent issue, the government must create laws that are aimed at reducing the amount of guns that are in circulation within the country, while at the same time not...
