Intelligence in the Revolutionary War

In 1773 before the Revolutionary War began, American colonists were being taxed by the British Parliament to pay for the expenses that were increasingly high due to the French and Indian war. The American colonists debated with the British Parliament that they have raised millions of dollars in taxation for these war debts. A famous man by the name of Benjamin Franklin was one of these American colonists that debated with the British Parliament arguing that they have earned their place in the British Empire. The British Empire and Parliament did not agree with Benjamin Franklin and the American colonists, and insisted taxed the colonists for more money. This is where the famous phrase “Taxation without representation” steamed from. Also this sparked the American colonists to form a unified Continental Congress and a pursuer government representative in every American colony; even though seeming to remain loyal to the British Empire and the Crown. American colonists were determine to boycott the taxations of British tea and in the Boston harbor the colonists destroyed shiploads of British tea which led to the Boston Tea Party in 1773. In response to these acts by the American colonists the British Empire sent and assigned Army General Thomas Gage to govern the colony of Boston, Massachusetts.
Boston Massachusetts at this time was a center point of revolutionary activist seeking political reasons to distance themselves from the strong hold of the British. This is what enacted the Massachusetts Government Act in 1774 leading to the end of local government. These revolutionary activists forced the new appointed royalty members to seek sanctuary in Boston. In 1775 General Thomas Gage learned of activists and local militias in Concord,...

The United States Government and the United States military use more advanced technology such as Signal Intelligence, Geospatial Intelligence, Low level voice interception, and Imagery Analysis to collect intelligence to defeat and eliminate enemies that threat our way of living today. Although for technology advancement today we still have to use the intelligence gathering that General George Washington and “The Cupler ring” used during the Revolutionary war, this is counterintelligence and human intelligence collections that go back to the fundamental ways that founded our country.
