Project Manager Selection
Upon completion of the project portfolio and thorough review of the projects contained within, the Chick-Fil-A project was chosen. Following the selection of the project, the senior management, Industrial Civil and Electrical Engineering (ICEE) Inc., is tasked to choose a project manager who will lead the project. It is the project manager’s job to ensure that the project is properly planned, implemented, and completed. The project manager should be a great facilitator and supervisor, and most importantly an excellent communicator. Project managers are responsible for the successful planning, executing and closing of any project they may host. The project manager for ICEE was selected based on the criteria the senior management team deemed necessary and associated with efficient and effective and absolutely necessary project management practices. They are also scaled using a consistent method. The scale is mainly based on the level of impact each trait would have on the successful completion of the Chick-Fil-A project in particular. Key responsibilities of a project manager include, but are not limited to:
• Producing clear and achievable project objectives
• Establishing the project requirements, and
• Managing the constrictions; cost, time, quality,etc.
The following Project Manager Selection Criteria was used:
• Time Management
• Organizational Skills
• Team Leading Skills
• Problem Resolution
• Credibility
• Project Knowledge
• Communications Skills, and
• Ethics
The above mentioned criteria were assessed on a scale determined by ICEE, and are listed below:

The probability of conflicts arising as a result of using the matrix project organizational method is very high, and therefore, the project manager(s) have been thoroughly trained in conflict resolution and possess outstanding interpersonal skills. Communication matrix is a technique used to place all the project constituents that is stakeholders, project team, customer on a page or table and to necessitates on keep informing the right information to right people on right time and to repeat the process on scheduled time. In the globalized economy, Successful project managers are in much demand across many industries. Organizations strongly need experienced project managers to lead their staff to accomplish their business goals and deliver successful projects. In an increasingly complex environment, project managers need to turn into many roles and have all kinds of responsibilities at each level of management within an organization. The success of the project will be determined by how well it is managed.
