Immigration is when people cross national borders, coming or going to a different country. The United States of America has always been an attractive country to migrate to because of the positive benefits. America has the largest national economy and many other rewards, therefore it is not hard to see its appeal (Walsh). Because of America having so many appealing advantages, it is now the leading country of immigration (Walsh). Despite the government policies, America still allows immigrants of many different races and cultures to enter. Most of the immigrants that come to the United States enter illegally. Many mid-aged Americans with lower education are competing with immigrants to find a job. The estimated number of illegal aliens in the Texas work force is 1,296,670 (Passel). Foreign born aliens are taking jobs in America. Caroline May tells readers, “The number of foreign born people employed increased last month while the number of employed native-Americans decreased” (May, 1). With this being said, Americans are losing jobs and immigrants are picking them up. 17% of America’s workforce are immigrants (Immigrants). The result of this many immigrants in the workforce is that many Americans are out on jobs. Last month, the unemployment rate for native-born Americans was 4.9 percent. Trump. Donald Trump knows that immigration is a major problem in America. Trump is acting to fix America’s broken systems. Although the 2008 recession lowered illegal immigration, it has continued to be an issue. Trump does not want any debates he just wants to fix immigration for the American population. Trump tells Americans “On day one, we will begin working on an impenetrable physical wall on the southern border” (Trump). Trump wants to build a giant, solid wall on the southern border to stop all immigrants that are migrating this way. Right now, there are many different technology systems being used to control who comes in America and who leaves America. Donald Trump tells America, “We will use the best technology, including above-and below-ground sensors, towers, aerial surveillance a manpower to supplement the wall, find and dislocate tunnels, and keep out the criminal cartels” (Trump).
