Imam Alhussain
Imam Alhussain, or Alhussain ibn Ali ibn Ab Talib, was the third Shia Imam, grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, the son of Ali ibn Abi Talib and Fatima. The day of his death during a battle with the army of Caliph Yazid celebrated by Shiites as Ashura mourning. Shia's tradition considers Alhussain a martyr and saint. Many opinions converge to what he knew about the hopelessness of his struggle, but suffered martyrdom for the sake of Islam, that the community was not destroyed Yazid. Shiites believe that it was a voluntary sacrifice for the sake of necessity. Alhussain is an example of how a hero can fight against tyranny and be a good Muslim. Ashura is celebrated Maharram month over this event and sacrifice("What Non-Muslims Say About Alhussain").
Alhussain (the third Imam of the Immaculate family of the Prophet) was born in 626 (3 of the month of Shaban in the year 4 lunar Hijra) in Medina. His father was Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib and his mother Fatima, the youngest daughter of the Prophet Muhammad. The Messenger of Allah, learning about the birth of a grandson, hastened to the house of Ali and Fatima and asked Asma bring baby. Home environment was the cleanest Alhussain and his caregivers differed high humane and moral qualities. Alhussain brought those to whom was given the responsibility of direction and leadership of the world. Among the Arabs of the time there was a tradition not to recognize female births. And the messenger of God decided to change the backward tradition. He called Alhussain part of his body and did not hide his love for the children of Fatima, Hassan and Alhussain. ...ussein struck a sword on his head, and then all rushed at him, and then all of his men were killed. Alhussain fell in battle, received dozens of puncture wounds and chopped. Chairman of the dead were sent to the Caliph in Damascus. Last publicly regretted the incident. Imam Alhussain was killed during the Battle of Karbala on October 10 of the year 680 (10 of Muharram in the 61st year on the lunar Hijri). According to tradition, was buried in Karbala, near the site of his death. Later on his tomb was built the Temple of Imam Hussein, which became a place of pilgrimage for Shia.
