Criminal Justice Technology
Illegal narcotics destroy lives. They rip the bonds between marriages, parents, and siblings. The emotional effects after a family member finds that another one in the family has been doing drugs can be very disastrous. Children who grow up around drug abusers more than likely tend to use than their counterparts. Illegal drug users destroy their lives and the lives around them. Various health effects are reported by those who grow up around drug activity and by those who use the drugs. These sorts of problems are always happening no matter how many laws are placed on the drugs, and without the assistance of technology and law enforcement crime would be at an all time high. Technology plays a key part in the prevention of illegal drugs being produced, distributed, and sold around the country, while it may be expensive the benefits are worth the cost. The Criminal Justice system should be spending more on technology to prevent the production and distribution of drugs in United States of America.
Illegal narcotics effects on the body are felt instantaneously, There are many stages after the delivery of illegal narcotics to the body. Many of those stages are very dangerous and can even lead to death depending on the type of narcotic that was abused. After the use of methamphetamine a user can become very argumentative which may lead to trouble with the police, and tweaking which is the most dangerous stage of methamphetamine use. Tweaking is where a user takes more and more of the drug to keep the intense pleasure they experience initially (Littell 19). Tweaking leads to a very aggressive state where the user feels paranoid and angry (Littell 19). Tweaking leads to terrible crimes being committed where ...

...meth lab is discovered there has to be a clean up crew called out to clean up the site from any chemicals found, this forces americans to spend millions of dollars in taxpayer money in efforts to clean up the sites of meth labs. The use of technology for law enforcement officials has the ability to keep things like this from happening in the future and help them combat illegal narcotics and keep them off the street.
Technology has all sorts of benefits for the human race, we have came a long way in the efforts to advance and move forward with knowledge and technology and it has contributed greatly to society. Technology has a special place in police work because it can be used for all sorts of things. Drug enforcement is one of the areas that technology is very beneficial and can help in the keeping of harmful narcotics off of the streets and away from children.
Making drugs illegal has wasted a vast amount of money, prison space, police time, and caused epidemics of violent crime.
When societies finally become comfortable with reality, they begin to abandon the murderous laws that impede their growth. Currently, the social stigma and legislated morality regarding the use of illicit drugs yield perhaps the most destructive effects on American society. Drug laws have led to the removal of non-violent citizens from society- either directly by incarceration or indirectly by death - which is genocidal in quantity and essence. I base my support of the decriminalization of all drugs on a principle of human rights, but the horror and frustration with which I voice this support is based on practicality. The most tangible effect of the unfortunately labeled "Drug War" in the United States is a prison population larger than Russia's and China's, and an inestimable death toll that rivals the number of American casualties from any given war, disease or catastrophe.
Drug trafficking has been a massive concern between the borders of Mexico and the U.S. “since mid 1970s” (Wyler, 1). Drug trafficking is “knowingly being in possession, manufacturing, selling, purchasing, or delivering an illegal, controlled substance” (LaMance, 1). A dynamic relationship exists amongst Columbia, Mexico, and the U.S. the informal drug trafficking economy. This growing informal drug economy leads to many individuals creating a substantial living through this undercover market. These individual drug cartels monopolizing the trafficking market are a growing problem for the U.S economy and need to be located and controlled. If this trafficking continues, the U.S. informal economy will crush the growth of legal industries. The trafficking and abuse of drugs in the U.S. affects nearly all aspects of consumer life. Drug trafficking remains a growing issue and concern to the U.S. government. The U.S. border control must find a way to work with Mexico to overpower the individuals who contribute to the drug trafficking business. This market must be seized and these individuals must be stopped.
Concerned authorities have focused essentially on criminalization and punishment, to find remedies to the ever-increasing prevalent drug problem. In the name of drug reducing policies, authorities endorse more corrective and expensive drug control methods and officials approve stricter new drug war policies, violating numerous human rights. Regardless of or perhaps because of these efforts, UN agencies estimate the annual revenue generated by the illegal drug industry at $US400 billion, or the equivalent of roughly eight per cent of total international trade (Riley 1998). This trade has increased organized/unorganized crime, corrupted authorities and police officials, raised violence, disrupted economic markets, increased risk of diseases an...
The war on drugs in our culture is a continuous action that is swiftly lessening our society. This has been going on for roughly 10-15 years and has yet to slow down in any way. Drugs continue to be a problem for the obvious reason that certain people abuse them in a way that can lead to ultimate harm on such a person. These drugs do not just consist of street drugs (marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy), but prescription medications as well. Although there are some instances where drugs are being used by subjects excessively, there has been medical research to prove that some of these drugs have made a successful impact on certain disorders and diseases.
The drug problem in the U.S. and around the world is an important issue and seems to be a difficult problem to tackle across the board. The inflow of drugs has become one of the largest growths in transnational crime operations; illicit drug use in the United States makes it very difficult for nation states police and customs forces to get a handle on the issues. War on drugs, drug trafficking has long been an issue for the United States. There has been a proclamation of “war on drugs” for the past 44 years.
Technology over the years has improved the criminal justice system. Ever since the 1960s, criminal justice systems have used technology to advance and gain a better knowledge of the different issues and encounters officers may face. Technology is used to improve the day-to-day operations, decrease operational costs and increase strategic planning and tactical approaches. Technology has opened new opportunities for the criminal justice system. There are so many new criminal activity practices, such as computer crimes.
Implications of implementing this approach may be “to reduce the dangers of drug use for the community and the individual, and to shift the focus of illegal drugs as primarily a criminal justice of medical issue to a social and/or public health iss...
Recent advancements in technology have had a huge impact on the current criminal justice system. These new developments have made it easier for those in the field to track down criminals and help provide better evidence to support their cases. Things such as fingerprint databases, DNA testing, GPS tracking, and many other things have made it easier for prosecutors or defendants to prove their cases in court. This is very beneficial because with this new wave of technology officials are now able to provide more reliable and credible evidence in court. This current upsurge of technology will help benefit a lot people in the field. People such as law enforcement, falsely accused criminals, prosecutors, defendants, judges, the list just goes on and on. Technology has been has had a major impact on the criminal justice system, it is now been made easier to track down and catch criminals and made it so that the evidence provided at court is more reliable and credible.

We all know why we like technology. Some positive things of technology that mostly everyone had thought about are how convenient it is. But have you looked deeper into the pros of technology? For example, technology had come a long way. Take a look at DNA forensics. Without DNA testing and tracking, we would not be able to put criminals in jail when they are guilty. This process has worked great for those studying forensics, science, even working for the government. As stated from the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, DNA is especially important in the study of evolution. They are right! DNA and other sciences would not make the world it is today. If we did not have this type of technology we have today, we would not be able to perform surgeries. We would not be able to provide auto...
Abuse can cause countless medical problems to the body. A person who is addicted will continue to stimulate themselves regardless if they are aware of the negative chain reactions. Once addicted, it becomes difficult to stop due to how the body has become dependent. Health will be harmed the more a stimulant is used. Health effects include: cardiovascular disease, strokes, cancer, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, lung disease, mental disease, birth defects. Mental health is what keeps a person in the right mind to make better decisions and have better control in life. Drugs have the ability to change mood and behavior. If drugs have affected the brain already, the desire increases which changes mental health. Some may not realize that they have been affected their health negatively. “A person who abuses drugs may not realize they have a problem until pronounced effects of drug abuse are seen, often physically. While drug abuse effects on the body vary depending on the drug used, all drug abuse negatively impacts one 's health (Addictions Community). Since drugs create many health issues, treatment is not a simple task. Treatments are hard to obtain and addictions often go
Throughout the years, technology has been increasing in both good and bad ways. Technology is now being used to contact people through social media, link people together through group chats, and also spy on people. Although connecting with people instantly on social media is the upside to technology usage, people often tend to share private information that can be used in the wrong way which is the downside of technology. As both technology and crime increases, technology usage is now being increased to help solve crimes. Many years ago, without the usage of technology, many aspects of a crime was not questioned or the resources to uncover certain evidence were both time consuming and/or expensive. The Police Chief Magazine list many technological improvements that have been put in place to
Today, technology has affected our global surroundings in a number of ways. Technology has created a more advanced society and economy. We use technology in every aspect of life today. New innovations and technology helps create a safer atmosphere and reduces the rate of crime. Technology is the usage and knowledge of techniques or is systems of these things. Usage of technology in the criminal justice system is not new but more apparent today. Technology in criminal justice will continue to challenge us to think about how we turn information into knowledge. Due to new technology, criminal investigations are able to maintain and improve their processes. Forensic science, DNA, other and future technology has all had a tremendous impact on criminal investigation and its process.
Today, illegal drugs cause many regretful accidents in society. They have killed thousands of people every year and bring suffering to many people and
