The citizens are not the only people that help the Community be safe, its the police that help people feel safe by eliminating the bad things. But, there is one thing that doesn't make the community feel safe and that is the amount of crime. Some Places obtain less crime than others, therefore; developing a bigger population. For an example, East St. Louis has not a lot of people living there because there is a high number of crimes that happen. As many people can see, one of the careers that I am interested in doing is law enforcement.
There are many ranks that many people can drive into; there is an officer, detective, sergeant, lieutenant, captain, colonel, and commander(“Careers” para.2). The lower ranks are required to wear a uniform while on duty such as being an officer(“Careers” para.3). Police officers prepare many things around the community, including enforcing the law, responding to emergency and non- emergency calls, patrolling your assigned areas, conducting traffic stops, arresting suspects, filling out forms, and preparing cases(“Police and” para.10). If somebody is physically hurt the officers will have to perform CPR on them(“Police Patrol” para.3). The police will sometimes have to control crowds too(“Police Patrol” para.1). When policemen patrol their assigned area they don’t always patrol it by car they will sometimes have to patrol them by foot too(“Police Patrol” para.3). When police patrol they will sometimes come across accidents which they will have to investigate to observe if the person was violating the law or rule(“Patrol Police” para.3). Police patrol officers protect lives and property while detectives gather information or evidence of crimes(“Police and” para.1). Sheriffs and deputy sheriffs are...

I then asked him what the daily life of a police-officer looks like. He explained to me that it varies from day to day, but that there’s a general trend. The usual pattern goes as follows: wake up, go to work, get a roll call, check your email, and get the other night’s briefing. Once you are finished with all of these duties and tasks, you go into your vehicle, put your equipment inside the vehicle and then go on patrol. So you essentially first wake up to make sure everything’s in order and then go out to deter and hinder as much crime as
To conclude, Community policing represents a major development in the history of American law enforcement, but the extent to which this approach is a success and dominates contemporary policing remains a source of debate. In my point of view, community policing is good for communities. It has challenged the traditional concept of the police as crime-fighters by drawing attention to the complexities of the police role and function. In addition to the police officer hard work; citizens can also make a difference and contribute to make neighborhoods a better place to live. For instance, citizens can hold community meetings to talk about concerns and agree on solutions help organize healthy activities for children in your neighborhood, join or starting a neighborhood crime watch program, and talk to your community police officers and share information and concerns.

There are many different things that an officer has to deal with while working has a police officer. First thing is the work schedule its not always easy when you have to work 40 to 50 hours a week for work and you have a family at home you have to make time for. Also you have college and other things that are in your daily routine. So keeping your schedule balanced is one of your challenges of being a police officer. Another thing about law enforcement is their features. If an officer does hold himself a curtain way and doesn’t have curtain feature like integrity, confidence, honesty the office will not last long as a law enforcement officer. An officer will always be quick to judge. Noo matter ehat being a law enforcement will always be one of the most dangerous jobs out there. You have to be on youre guard constantly because there is always someone out there who dosnt like you ans is out to get you. Personally I believe that civilians do not give us officers enough credit for our work. We are constantly in danger so citizens will feel safe and go on with their everyday lives. Instead of taking officers for granted show your appreciation to law
When you think of police what does it mean to you? The responsibility of a police officer is to protect the public and to serve the community. Also, they detect and to prevent crime, police officers strive to maintain the law. New police officers work with the general duty as patrol divisions, that provides a range of experiences and assignments. The General duty of policing involves patrolling in assigned areas to enforce laws, protect public safety, and arrest criminal suspects either by car, foot, bicycle, or in some cases, horse. Police officers can also do some of the following: they Investigate accidents and crime scenes; to secure evidence and interview any witnesses; they collect notes and reports; they can provide emergency assistance to victims an disaster, crime, and accidents;
