How does the changing weather patterns affect sports: football in america is under some heavy restraints at the moment, the culprit being: climate change, climate change has increased the average temperatures in the last 50 years by 2 degrees fahrenheit, although this might not seem like much it is predicted that the average temperature is going to rise faster because of the thickness of the atmosphere only getting worse, USA is affected more by climate change because of its massive population and the high car count and factories pumping out CO2 into the atmosphere.
What is exertional heat illness? exertional heat illness can be across a variety of symptoms including muscle cramps, fainting, dizziness, crankiness, excessive thirst, being spaced out or distant, there can also be a variety of severities from life threatening to a few days of physical activity. exertional heat illness will always start of at the smallest severity but the longer it goes unnoticed and untreated the more severe it can get.

How does it affect football players in the US more than other sports?
Football players are more affected by exertional heat illness because there have full pads and a helmet when they train and 2 thirds of those football players affected by EHI were either overweight or obese football players also have very physical and long training sessions some lasting up to 5 hours wit h45 minutes without water.

Why is this EHI such a big problem for football players?
From 1980 to 2009, 58 football players have died from EHI, and in the summer of 2011 alone 6 players died from a mixture of EHI and lack of rehydration, EHI is a really big problem for football players because now they can only have 90 minutes a week of ful...
