The sport of hockey has been around for over 200 years. Hockey is unlike any other sport because the regulated rules allow much more physicality and contact. Many people would argue that hockey is too physical and it is only a matter of time before it becomes fatal. When hockey players begin playing the sport they are pushing by their parents to achieve greatness. I believe that hockey is one of the best sports in the world and being physical is a part of the sports. I also believe that hockey parents take the sport a little too far and also they get out of control when forcing their kids to become better at the sport. Hockey is one of the most physical sports in America but I firmly believe that the fighting should be regulated for all of the player’s safety and well-being, but not taken away completely; also I believe that fighting should be allowed at a mature level in the sport such as varsity hockey. Players need to be taught at a young age that the violence needs to stay on the ice. Transitioning off the ice I believe that parents need to be more mature and set prime examples for their children; if not then it could result in violent outburst from their child on and off the ice. Although hockey is not a perfect sport I believe with a little improvement from players and the fans it could be much more popular and also watched on a larger scale.
