Hiking safety is a subject matter that I am interested in learning more about. My family and I love to hike and be out in God’s creation, taking pleasure in all of His great wonders. However, along with all the breath taking scenery, wonderful flowers, trees and animals that we get to see, there are also dangers to hiking in the wilderness. One of those dangers is stumbling upon a wild animal, such as a bear, moose, or even a snake. We could also possibly fall and twist or even break an ankle or leg. As my daughters get older we plan on taking longer and more challenging hikes, therefore, increasing our chances of one or both of these instances happening. For that reason my goal is to obtain viable and creditable online resources to assist me in becoming better educated on how to prepare for and handle these situations when and if they should occur. Planning ahead and being prepared for all kinds of situations can prove to be a matter of life or death while hiking in the wilderness and excellent online educational resources are great assets to aid in becoming more informed on how to be prepared for those situations.
Ensuring that my resources are advantageous to helping me achieve my goal of being prepared and safe while hiking, it is imperative to evaluate the resources to make certain that they are relevant, creditable, and thorough. In order to make certain that the sources measure up to my criteria I will be looking to see that the resources are trustworthy, dependable, and consistent.
