Happy Birthday Chase
Life moves by quickly, but from the start of life to the end there are a special days where you celebrate the day of your birth. There are also particular birthdays that you show more special interest to than others. Some of which being, when you finally become a teenager, turning sixteen so you're finally able to drive, turning eighteen signifies you as an adult, turning twenty-one means you can buy alcohol, and if you're lucky enough turning a hundred means you've lived to be just plain old. Turning twenty-one may, to some people, be the greatest of days. My friend Chase turned twenty-one this year, and we may have thrown him the greatest party he'll ever have.
The day was June 25, 2005, it was so hot outside, and the humidity was off the chart. June 25 just also happened to be my good friend Chase's birthday. My friends Matt, Houston, Mike, Mike, and I were throwing him a surprise party at Matt's house, and he had no idea. We had been waiting for this for a few weeks now, and had everything perfectly planned out. He was turning the big twenty-one so this was a big day for him, and he was extremely excited about it. He talked about nothing but buying alcohol and beer for himself for the past month at least.
Our culture we has a coming of age party that celebrates your transition from childhood to adulthood called a Quinceañera. It’s similar the American version of a sweet sixteen. It differs in the rituals and meaning behind the party. Quinceañeras consists of multiple traditions and customs. Starting with the attire of the fifteen year old. Traditionally they wear dresses similar to ball gowns of which ever color of preference they chose upon. Other traditions consists of dance numbers they perform with their male dancers, chambelanes, to present their self to the community and show their transition to adulthood. My experience in the passage to adulthood helped me understand and practice my culture better. It brought me a better understanding of how my culture celebrates coming of age. I felt fortunate to have the possibility to experience this tradition. It was a celebration uniting us to participate in our own
Eighteenth birthdays are a time for celebration and good times. It was my friend’s big day and she wanted just that. She asked her parents for a party, and like most teenagers she wanted alcohol to be involved. In order to keep her house and the people inside it safe, she had to make a few precautions before the party. These rules ranged from keeping the music volume moderate, closing the windows, and warning the neighbors beforehand. The party was under control and everyone was being courteous and controlled. Around midnight, two new guests walked around back through the sliding door and crashed the party. Unfortunately, they weren’t just people we forgot to call, they were police officers, and once they entered they immediately began arresting my friends. Luckily, none of us were charged because the police officers lacked probable cause for entering the house. I thought I would never see that kind of police harassment again. Unfortunately, I was dead wrong.

All Birthdays are important, but there is no other birthday that can over shadow a quinceañera. A quinceañera is more than just a birthday party; it is also a rite of passage, a religious occasion, and a celebration of heritage. My Fifteenth birthday will forever be frozen into my memory.
It was my birthday and mom had planned for me to go to Six Flags. My birthday is March 21st, it was spring, so it was getting hot outside. I didn’t like it but why not go to Six Flags on a hot and sunny day. I brought some of my friends with me because who wants to be at Six Flags with no one at Six Flags with you. I brought a friend from school named Jeremiah and my cousin named Jeremy. Jeremy slept over at my house and
Regarding the practice of celebrating birthdays, our society celebrates them better than the society in The Giver does. This is because our society allows members to celebrate every individual birthday. Every member
When a young person celebrates their 18th birthday it marks the beginning of their journey into adulthood. It signifies their ability to vote, obtain certain jobs, prepare to graduate from high school and enter a college or trade school, ability to enlist in the military, watch “R” rated movies in the theater without parental guidance, and in some cases, buy cigarettes on their own legally. Turning 21 years old for a young person becomes more exciting as they are possibly finishing up college, able to drink legally, established a network of social support outside of their families, and working towards their career path. Some of the entitlements previously mentioned are in a sense considered a rite of passage that gradually leads to complete
All the people around me were excited and were in a very festive mood; and they all were perfectly allowed to do so. After all, it was the Fourth of July, Independence Day, and my birthday. I had a very pleasant feeling as I strolled through the row of tents at the beach with my friends by my side, as I observed countless people enjoying themselves under the summer sun in the commotion of the small festival. The city was quite festive – decorated by splashes of red, white, and blue everywhere. People occasionally wore a plastic Uncle Sam’s hat, wore patriotic boardshorts, or somehow showed off how American they were proud to be. It was a wonderful feeling and it was by far the best birthday that
When you turn eighteen you are expected to just be mature. You’re allowed to buy a house, a car, get a credit card, it seems like you can do whatever you want. Maturity basically gets thrown at you, so hopefully you are prepared for it. High school responsibilities, like getting a job, budgeting your time and learning to drive teach you skills that you can use in your adult life, if you choose to apply them. Maturity is about choice. You can be given every skill that you need to survive and if you are mature enough you will use them.
Through out life people go through so many hardships. Whether it be good or bad there is always something that comes out of the situation. One of the most exciting but yet scariest events would be graduation. For a lot of people, graduating from high school is a goal. It takes a lot of time and effort to achieve that goal. In the long run, it opens a lot of opportunities for people to succeed. Graduation is the end of high school, and the beginning to life.
It was a day of eager anticipation. It was a day of last-minute planning. It was the day before my fourteenth birthday. I had been looking forward to the party for at least two months. Everything was accounted for: balloons, Super Soakers, and music. There would be a barbeque of magnificent proportions. Miraculously, everyone had read the RSVP deadline and called in a week ahead of schedule. An enormous ice cream cake was to be delivered with eight large pepperoni pizzas. Needless to say, I was excited. It was to be my first party at our new house. I helped cook the enormous array of snack foods. I eventually surrendered to the temptation and stole a few strips of marinated steak when my mom wasn't looking. I had gone to bed that night with dreams of family, friends, and possibly a new stereo system.
First, Birthdays are very important event in people life’s , but for me it was not
"Happy Birthday", my mom screamed out and scared me the morning of June 9. But it was surprising and nice of her since she wished me before anyone else. It was my eighteen birthday and it was my day. While looking out the big windows in my room, I thought to myself, I will do what satisfies me today, but wasn't quite sure what? I didn’t receive any calls from my friends, or other relatives. Nobody was home either besides my mom with whom I can’t make plans because she got her own work to do. It depressed me because it seemed like this was going to be one boring eighteen birthday.
Graduation was the most important day in my life. I waited for this amazing day for twelve years to reach my dream and move on to college. For most people, graduation is a memorable day. It is hard for me to forget it even after a hundred years. The day I woke up realizing it was my graduation day, I was smiling all day long knowing that I had made my family proud of me. I remember everything about my graduation day: my party, cake, dress, makeup, hair, cap and gown, and the gifts I got from family and friends.
My birthday is next month and I am going to be thirteen! I am not able to do much for my birthday this year because of the war going on around us. The destruction makes me so sad. Where we live isn’t really ruined because of where we are located but that doesn’t mean we don’t see other places that get destroyed.
