Gun control is a problem that is ever growing. It occurs all over the world knowing no limits or boundaries. As of today, the United States of America is experiencing lots of problems with gun control. The definition of gun control is any law or policy that is based upon restricting or limiting anything involving firearms. This includes, but is not limited to possession of firearms, production, shipment, sale and even use of firearms. Currently there are quite a few gun control laws in place. Each country has its own around the world, with the United Kingdom being the strictest of anybody in regards to the possession of guns. The United States of America on the other had is one of the countries with the most lenient gun control laws. However, in the past 10 years gun control laws have changed drastically in the United States. It has also become one of the most talked about, and controversial topics, in today’s society. It is my belief that gun control will hurt us more than help. Over the past 10 years, gun control has evolved and drastically changed. There has been a number of new laws and policies that have become enacted or declined. According to a poll done between December 14-16 in 2012 57% of Americans would like to see new laws and policies come forth that would support gun control. However, in March of 2012, the percentage was only 39% that supported gun control. Analyzing these statistics you can see how gun control is receiving a lot of support and changing from what we used to think. If you went back another 10 years, only 5% of Americans supported any form of gun control. As Thomas Jefferson once stated. “laws that forbid the carrying of arms… disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes… ... ... middle of paper ... ...t of this brief. In short is stating that just because the gun has a sporting purpose and it can be used for a sporting purpose doesn’t mean that it is a sporting gun. Sporting purpose is also legally vague and I imagine that the courts will be fighting over this one few years. In conclusion, gun control is something that will always be debated. Whether it is right or wrong is up for you to decide. By choosing the right politicians you can let others know what you believe, because ultimately it is them that make the laws. Hopefully we can come up with a resolution to fix the mess that America is in right now. Works Cited Kirgiz, Allen. http://rense.com/general85/obs.htm. Nap...
