New Imperialism was a period of territorial expansion by the countries of Europe, the U.S. and Japan which began around 1870 and lasted until the mid-twentieth century. During this time, these imperial nations colonized vast swathes of Asia, the Middle East and Africa. It was the time of the New imperialism, when powerful industrialized nations fought for control of territories and there resources all over the world. Applied science and industrial productivity powered the technological, economic way and military that powered the New imperialism.

His goal was to have the British government declare a protectorate that would allow his people to retain farming and grazing lands to there controls. He did his best with the diplomatic resources but his kingdom was to small and too poorly armed to become a independent state which then ended up the British responding with a positive note. As during the time heightened competition among the states for raw materials in Africa was a big part in European colonial expansion.

It wasn 't all good for the french till Samori Toure, who is a West African muslim and organized the most sustained resistance to the french. Samori built a new state training soldiers to use guns and was declaring himself “ commander of the faithful”. Samori wasn 't trying to go for the french instead he was controlling trade for slaves ,salt ,and gold but when the french conquered his neighbors they had no choice but to turn there firepower on
Imperialism is a policy by which a country gains power over the world or other countries. It begun in 1865 and it caused US to expand. America had “Thirst for New Market”. The business in The United States was developing rapidly so it needed more supplies (trade) from other countries. The United States used different methods such as Jingoism/Racism, Economic Expansion and American superiority over Europe, but however, economic expansion contributed most for the US Imperialism. This meant more money and power compare to other countries.
Imperialism is the practice by which powerful nations or peoples seek to extend and maintain control or influence over weaker nations or peoples. By the 1800’s, the Western powers had advantages in this process. They led the world in technological advances, giving them a dominance when conquering other countries. The European Imperialists made attempts to conquer China and Japan. In this process, they succeeded by influencing Japan greatly. However, they were not as successful with China.
The 19th century set the stage for different policies that lead to the extending of America’s power, which is defined as imperialism. Imperialism started for different reasons like the Americans wanting the U.S. to expand or explore the unknown land, or even some feared existing resources in U.S. might eventually dry up. The reason imperialism started doesn’t really matter, but more of what it caused. Imperialism lead to Cuban assistance, the addition of Hawaii and Alaska to America, and Yellow Journalism.

The two main effects Imperialism in Latin America and Southeast Asia were cultural changes and depopulation. Cultural changes in Latin America was the practice of syncretic religions, while in Southeast Asia it was the establishment of Western Education. The decline in population was excessive in Latin America, when in fact it was minimal for Southeast Asia.
The 1800's were a renowned era in European history. With the rise of imperialism came the ruthless desire to seek new land through the use of authoritative implications. The key representatives of the theories of neo-Marxist on imperialism are Sweezy, Paul Baran, Andre Gunder Frank and Amin. Sweezy states that imperialism is a stage in the development of world economy. (Baran, Paul, and Paul Sweezy, 1968)He pointed out that there are several reasons such as the dominant form of capital is the monopoly capital and the rivalry in the world market had led to cutthroat competition and international monopoly combines. For Baran, he thinks that there is a clear connection between monopoly capitalism and imperialism. The concept of imperialism is one that has pervaded nearly every major society or empire throughout human history. In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries vast changes occurred in Western Europe (and soon spread elsewhere) that spurred a new round of imperialism the likes of which had not been seen before. The changes were the industrial revolution that was taking place. Countries were rapidly advancing to industrial societies producing much greater quantities of goods at much lower costs. The goods produced ranged everywhere from cotton textiles to military machinery, all of which would play important roles in rounds of imperialistic expansion that would follow. The imperialistic displays by Western European nations also brought about several other industrial revolutions in other regions including the Ottoman Empire, Russia, and Japan. I will take a look at how the industrial revolution encouraged imperialistic expansion, as well as some of the results of that expansion in other regions.
