“Hard work is the key to success” – an adage that I believe in. Being a mathematics teacher, my father is my first inspiration to study science. With a mini-library he has in the house that constituted of mathematics and physics books, I can seek out any kind of book to study. His careful tutoring has instilled confidence in me to tackle mathematical problems. I used to perform exceptionally well in all the exams at school level. After class XII, I went on to take IIT-JEE, the toughest engineering entrance examination in India for admission into the world renowned Indian Institutes of Technology. To have qualified for this examination is so far the happiest moment of my life. After four years of exuberant journey through undergraduate studies in an IIT with a department rank of 2 (in a class of 40) and contemplating the paramount educational experience it had to offer , I decided to undertake graduate studies in Electrical Engineering in a reputed University.
I used to be very inquisitive about electronic and electrical devices. Later this curiosity led me to choose Electrical Engineering as my discipline in undergraduate studies. But when I had qualified in the IIT-JEE, I was initially offered a seat in Civil Engineering department at Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar. I am a member of Electrical Engineering Society of IIT Bhubaneswar, which helped in conducting an inter-collegiate event “Electronix”; the electronics design competition in Wissenaire 2012, the annual technical festival of IIT Bhubaneswar. I worked as a core team member in the event organization committee of Alma Fiesta 2011, the annual socio cultural festival of IIT Bhubaneswar.
I took a one year hiatus after my undergraduate studies primarily to financially stabilize myself and it gave me ample time to carefully choose a graduate program that suits my interest.
