With wonderful learning opportunities, a team of sharp and intelligent classmates and teachers, and specialized equipment, the Governor’s School at Innovation Park is the ultimate dream of all determined math/science devotees. With my natural curiosity for mathematics and science and eagerness to take on challenging ideas, I can collaborate with the team at Governor’s School to develop our wide spectrum of ideas and abilities into a highly sophisticated product.
While the studies at Governor’s School are noticeably more advanced and require more effort than at regular public schools, I see this rigor as the key to my academic success. For me, the classes I take that constantly introduce new thoughts that test my capability to “think outside the box”, are the ones that capture all my attention and interest. For example, while working with the Sierpinski Triangle at the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth geometry camp, I was struck with a strong determination to figure out the secret to the pattern. According to the Oxford Dictionary, the Sierpinski Triangle is “a fractal based on a triangle with four equal triangles inscribed in it. The central triangle is removed and each of the other three treated as the original was, and so on, creating an infinite regression in a finite space.” By constructing a table with the number black and white triangles in each figure, I realized that it was easier to see the relations between the numbers. At Governor’s School, I expect to be provided with stimulating concepts in order to challenge my exceptional thinking.

The math/science program at PWC Governor’s School presents challenging learning opportunities and well as motivated classmates and professors that can further my curiosity and devotion for the mathematical and scientific world around me. It also withholds a window of opportunity for me to move closer in attaining my career aspiration. In return, I can provide collaboration, leadership, and most importantly, an intelligent mind capable of creating pioneering, innovative, and inspiring ideas. Together, the students/faculty of PWCS Governor’s School and I can collaborate to form the most ground-breaking solutions.
When a teacher from Tryhard high school decides to voice her/he’s distaste about the success of the students from the previous year in mathematics, a few students decide to take matters into their own hand. Using the scores of the previous years they started to analyses the documents and see if the teacher was wrong.
As a middle school math teacher in Chippewa Falls, WI, Steven Reinhart often found that even his extensive planning and detailed lessons yielded less than high achievements from his students. He wanted to know why, that no matter how perfect his lessons were, his students’ level of achievement was so low. It even caused him to question his own methods of teaching. So Reinhart developed an idea to commit to gradually changing his ways of teaching by 10% each year. With the goal of simply teaching a single topic in a better way than the previous year, he “collected and used materials and ideas gathered from supplements, workshops, professional journals, and university classes” to achieve this goal (Reinhart, 2000).
The state that was chosen for this project is Delaware. Delaware is a small state located in the Mid-Atlantic. Delaware is usually referred to as the first state, because it was the first state to sign the constitution. Delaware can also be called the Blue Hen State because the blue hen is the official bird of Delaware, and because of the blue hens that Delaware soldiers carried around during the revolutionary war. Delaware even has a third nickname, the Diamond state, because Thomas Jefferson said it was a “jewel.”
...achers' groups to create a lobbying campaign warning against the too-soon adoption of any new educational theory. The slogan: "Remember new math.” Hands-on science does not add up," the campaign is successful. The public turns against the idea of "hands-on" science and the school board implements it only as a pilot project in a few schools. Gerlach makes a profit, and you are promoted.

During the sixteenth century and even into the seventeenth century, scientific discoveries and new empirical ways of thinking began to emerge. This period of history is commonly referred to as the Scientific Revolution. The Scientific Revolution challenged past authorities by challenging church teachings, philosophy, and traditionally held views of humanity’s place in the cosmos.
When I found out I qualified to be a candidate for the NJHS, I knew I had to take this chance. This group is made up of people who depict leadership, character, citizenship, academic success, and service and I would love to join. These characteristics wouldn't just be valuable for a candidate to have, but for everyone to have to exceed in life. If I were to be in the National Junior Honor Society, it would give me an opportunity to ameliorate my future and motivate me to do better.

District 9 is a movie about human and alien cohabitation that is shot like a documentary to give you a more realistic relationship to the characters and they’re relationships and interactions with each other. The movie starts out with a large paramilitary company (Multinational United, commonly referred to as MNU) in Johannesburg, South Africa, trying to evict 1.8 million aliens from a militarized slum known as district 9. The aliens, commonly referred to by a derogatory term “prawns”, are being evicted due to the humans of Johannesburg who live near the slums being fed up with dealing with them and demanding that they be moved to a new place, district 10. District 10 is 200 kilometers from the city of Johannesburg, which gives the locals

In building leadership capacity it is important to ensure that there is broad-based skillful participation. We want the students, parents, community, and staff to be participants. This is important because it allows for staff to take responsibility for the growth and development for not only themselves but for their peers in doing the work of leadership. It is helpful to have the community working together towards the common goal as opposed to ...
This class has opened my mind to the incredible impact that STEM Education can have on our society. I do not work in an institution that has a STEM program. I work at a preschool; this makes my practice of any type of STEM program extremely limited. However, it is a private school. All my students come from households where one or both of their parents are professionals. These professionals want their children to be academically prepared for school. This means we must academically, mentally, and emotionally prepare them for their future schooling. I teach my students how to be a functioning participant in a classroom while exploring mathematics, science, art, history, literature and pre-writing. Puzzles, counting, shapes, measuring, etc. are on the daily agenda. Science is a huge part of our curriculum. Science in the
I am a person who has always had a profound passion and fascination for areas requiring an analytical approach. Right from early days at school, Mathematics has intrigued me. The most challenging of all problems were my favorites and obtaining solutions to them would leave me with a sheer feeling of ecstasy. I always did and always would thrive on solving the most challenging problems. With a compelling desire to excel, hard work became my second nature. My aspiration for a technical career prompted me to take up one of the most coveted undergraduate program in Computer Engineering at SR Engineering College, the best of such institutions. My own systematic & methodical towards finding a solution to any problem best suits this field.
Today in the present world, most countries have the core object of governance in the “public good provisioning ” leitmotif. According to the main principles ; accountability, participation and transparency, from the governance ecology interaction between the State, Civil Society and Market –place, within the global-village environment, (Higgot and Ougaard 2002; Stiglitz 2003; Woods 2006) “Governance Deteriorate the Economical Progress of the Developing Countries”(Box 15.4 Kaufmann, Kray, and Mastruzzi, 2008 p 291 Governance Matter Vll: some leading findings). In my opinion governance on itself without parametric recognition is doomed to fail, instead of reflecting to new mechanisms of responsibility to steer and guide the social and economical issues, which I will try to clarify in the upcoming body breakdown. Governance is supported as structure through institutions, as process through instruments and as agenda through elements of good governance, generating the capacity to improve significant development and positive impact of economic growth and to cut back destitution. Despite of the fact that developing countries can come in line with the quality of governance by accepting it as a crucial determinant of developmental performance, it didn’t came into effect. The underlying fact of weak and poor governance was identified as a result, for not effectuating the measureme...
