When many people think about their future, usually they are only considering things that will effect or benefit their personal lives. Things such as the city that they will live or if they will have the same job five years down the road. Few people think about what may be going on in the environment around them. Global warming, also known as the greenhouse effect, is a rise in the entire temperature of the earth’s atmosphere. It has been receiving a lot of attention from scientists in the past few years. However, this is not a problem that has just been discovered. It has been evolving throughout history since 1928. But, it is a system that started around eighteen thousand years ago (When Did Global Warming Start?). Global warming is something that has been put off for many years, however many people will soon find that it is affecting the earth drastically every day.
The majority of people across the globe would most likely agree that they prefer warm weather over cold, which made global warming sound great at first. Until scientists started realizing that what was happening in the atmosphere would certainly do much more harm than good. And humans are to blame for a lot of it because every day activities are releasing harmful gases into the air. These are all known as greenhouse gases, and there are three main ones. These are carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide (Causes of Climate Changes). All three of these gases are produced by natural activity such as volcano eruptions, and also human activity such as burning fossil fuels. However water vapor is the most significant greenhouse gas because it is what controls parts of the water cycle (Causes of Climate Changes). Everyday activities are releasing too much of th...
