GMO Foods Effects
What does the destruction of organic foods, crops and humans have in common? That is right, Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). Everyone knows that Genetically Modified Food is the “next best thing”, and is a cure for hunger, but just how safe are the foods to consume? Genetically Modified foods are taking a toll on planet earth for many reasons, and could end up being the demise of the planet.
Crops are what physically keep us going as a planet, so when science and farming became one, we knew that the outcome was probably going to be a bad outcome, one that would have us all. Farming and science are two different topics that should not go together. According to the article “Dangers of GMO Foods” on Livestrong, “Once GMO’s are planted, they can do harm to nearby crops” (Livestrong). The harm this could have on the planet is one that will end up doing more bad than good. Planting GMO crops will affect the crops, and possibly the livestock around the vicinity of these Genetically Modified crops. I believe that the farmers are truly not happy with the decision to plant these crops around their crops, which I bet took a lot of time and effort to get them to grow to their fullest potential. No matter how much more food one acre of GMO crops produces, farmers will still be agitated that the crops that took them so long to work on and grow will be damaged or gone in the span of probably one day. The planet can only handle so much more science ruining it before we fall as a population. The numbers (percentage wise) are into the range of eighties and nineties. According to the article “ The GMO Controversy, What you need to know” on Whole Foods Magazine, “In the Midwest, where there are millions of acres of Genetica...

... organic food is not what it seems to be. According to the National Institute of Health, “Some people have raised concerns that the genes from one food are inserted into another food may cause an allergic reaction. For instance, if peanut genes are in tomatoes, someone could develop a peanut allergy by eating a tomato” (NIH). That sounds downright awful, just because I know some people that are deathly allergic to peanut products, and it’s awful to think that someone with that severity of an allergic reaction could end up dying due to a peanut allergy. I know that GMO foods are healthier, and there is more of a variety to them, but this is one of the risk factors that come from trusting a genetically modified food, and it could be potentially fatal. People who eat organic foods are guaranteed food that has been cared for, and nurtured (at some point). Even though
