Women and men have equally played their roles since the evolution of the human race. Roles such as housewives, mailmen, doctors, and policemen have kept the society we live today in equilibrium. Men have initially been a dominating species so to think a world without men could survive is doubtful. Y: The Last Man, a fiction comic written by Brian K. Vaughan is about a man named Yorick Brown and his monkey and how they survive a plaque which terminated every male mammal on earth. This comic revolves around Yorick and how he faces various obstacles to save mankind. A world without men would cease to exist.

There will be chaos, monarchy, reform and corruption amongst the women if all men perished. The majority of the government is run by men. The majority of the major leaders are men. Women don’t have an upper hand in running a government of as it is run today. As we can see in Y: The Last Man, there were only thirteen females in the senate and sixty in the house who were republicans. The republican lady’s thought that the democrats will eliminate the two party systems because they weren’t giving up their dead husbands seats. These republican ladies were power hungry so they violently ambushed the white house using gunfire. This disorder is an example of why women wouldn’t be successful in running a functioning government.

Women usually envy and resent each other for variety of reasons such as one might have more power, money, class, or happiness then the other. This resentment towards each other will contribute to conflict in a world without men. The amazons are a group of insane women who believe that the earth is cleansing her of the Y chromosomes. Men are essential to women as women are to men. Living in a world without men would resort to conflict and chaos. Men are essential for reproduction and human cloning isn’t proven to work practically. This world is in equilibrium because of the evolution of men and women. Y: The Last Man is a journey of a man who tries to save making because it’s proven that without men, the world wouldn’t survive much longer. “If all men were to go extinct tonight, the species of only women would survive for a few generations, and then die out when its frozen sperm banks ran empty. The human species needs both males and females in order to ensure survival, though socially women may live their lives and raise children with or without a male partner” says William Malin of the New York Times.
