From Social Drinking to Binge Drinking

Over many years drinking alcoholic beverages has tremendously changed. It has gone from a social drink to binge drinking. While drinking alcohol has not changed in society today; the way it is consumed has replaced the past ways. As time passes drinking alcohol has changed with the social aspect diminishing, and now many young adults have the intentions of getting drunk. Binge drinking can be defined as having an excess amount of alcohol in a short period of time, with the intent to get drunk fast.
Binge drinking is often seen as bad judgment made by a young adult, or more then often a college student. Many college students have encountered in binge drinking at some point. It can simply be seen that it is the persons intention to get drunk. The individuals goal is to become intoxicated while drinking large amounts of alcohol in a span of a few hours. The view towards alcohol from a college student can be seen as fun to get intoxicated. Binge drinking can be different to many people, for instance on the amount of alcohol consumed. Each individual has different limits when consuming alcohol. However, with binge drinking the individual still has the intent to get drunk. The perspective of only having a few drinks is not as common with young adults. The intention is always to get intoxicated. Having a casual drink is not as common anymore.
The knowledge of college students, is lacking when it comes to decisions for drinking. They often believe they know there limits. When going to college if there was a previous lack of exposure to alcohol; it may even be worse for students not knowing the threats of binge drinking. ...ble brain damage. Other disadvantages to binge drinking is an affect to one’s memory. The health issues are never associated, or taken into consideration during the act. Once a problem has occurred that is often when concerns are questioned whereas the people that binge do not realize the potential harm.
Alcohol usage has always stood a place in society as a social drink among friends, and family. Multiple cultures view drinking ethically without inappropriate behaviors associated with binge drinking. As times are changing, and view points are often changed towards certain subjects, the usage of alcohol is regulatory abused. As drinking might be appealing the lack of knowledge, and excessive amount consumed is significantly bad to a persons health, and social life. Alcohol abuse illustrates an unjustifiable form of drinking. Alcohol should be consumed in moderation.
