Imagine a painting of your life, what colors would be there? How would you show the different times in your life? Would you shade the areas where you had a hard time or use lines to show that? Being a artist that never truly finishes their work would be hard. When you are young, your enthused about painting. As you start to get older, all you want to do is visit with friends, so you miss that part of your life. Then you get back on track and work like crazy to make up wasted time. But you think to yourself “Will I ever finish my masterpiece or will it end when I do?” You start out with a blank canvas, nothing on it, but ready to absorb new information. You soak up the paint like a sponge, like a baby soaking in all the information it can. The paint on the brush is your knowledge, and you are waiting for that first piece of information that you can get. The first line would mark that you can walk, as the line grows you begin to talk. As your painting grows, so does your knowledge. Learning more and more everyday. At this point you don't know what is wrong and what is right, you have no clue what you want to paint. As your sitting there you are thinking, then you come up with an idea. You think of trees and grass, of water and sky. You start to see pictures and colors form into a beautiful picture. But what to do next? Should you continue to create a master piece or should you let another person show you? You decide to watch to see what others would do in your position, and you learn from that to start on your own master piece. You begin to learn that a little help does not hurt. Talking with other people and sharing ideas. You let other people criticize your work. You learn different shapes and sizes, colors and shades. Whi... ... middle of paper ... ... in her life. Her painting will be her own and it will show the world what and who she has become. She is you but different, and she will succeed in her own way as you did, with a little push here and there. She will have her own legacy some day to show the world. Grand all the same in her own way. Life is never ending, it goes on even after we are gone. You have multiple stages, different times, the world just evolves. It always changes as do our minds. Painting from a young age to an adult you would be able to see how your style has changed over the years. You could go any where from stick figures to dead on portraits. No one ever stays the same through out their life, and your taste in things change too. Like your favorite color may be pink when you were little, then by the time your sixteen it may be blue. Your life is your legacy so live it up to the fullest.
...would view life from a mental and spiritual perspective, did he love his profession and how he mastered his painting techniques. The wide range of tints and shades of numerous colors were blended to create the designated appearance, but how did he mix his pallet and create those colors to perfection without doing a mistake, all can be revealed by the master himself?
... some points I'm going to cross common experiences. Some of them are going to stick and become a little bit peculiarly mine . . . I don't worry about that. I worry about the paintings . . . the drive to make art ("Concepts in career: Frank Stella").
I feel good about this painting because I think it depicts life so well. Most children like childhood and enjoy the pleasure of being taken care of. Many people struggle with the teen years, and in the case of this person, the memories were tough but not horrible. Moving on, I think we all have memories we are fond of, take care of, or try to hold on to. We also have some down times that we would rather not remember, but being part of us they are. Last but not least we all have memories that life holds for us that are yet to be discovered. They can be grand if we make the choices to make them colorful and decorated.
...what to paint during that time, and he simply continue on with his painting spontaneously.
Art comes in many forms whether it is through literature, a painting, or movies, people express themselves through their art as an outlet yet they become so attached to their pieces as if it were a living breathing creature that it can never hold up to their own standards. The works that each artist completes never really feels finished to an extent. There is always room for the artist to add or fix and give their creation life. they can never feel fully satisfied with the work they have accomplished.
It segment we learn that art was meant for living, to make them stop, and think what is ahead. This art in part is about death and afterlife but also it is about this life and how we are living it.
If you’re not having fun making your work, no one will have fun looking at it. Life starts at the end of your comfort zone. Paint over a painting when you’re done with it. Educate yourself, read every book about every artist that inspires you. Listen to others, but take time and thought to verify their critique before accepting their advice. Pretend like your 5 years old and make art. Pretend like your 100 years old and make art. As soon as your process becomes a chore, find a way to change that into something you enjoy.
As a child I enjoyed roaming museums that encouraged my artistic inclination. I took art classes in my free time and was exhibited in the Brooklyn Museum of Art’s showcase of young artists. Creating art has helped me express my ideas and working in mixed media allows me to recreate used goods. Using plaster, paint and trashed Styrofoam, I casted a piece signifying liberation. Utilizing a broken printer, I integrated the parts to create wearable jewelry. Retrieving discarded telephone cable and candy wrappers I created sculptures that adorn small offices. Recently, I have begun oil painting. Tinting color and shading can be painstaking but has taught me patience and
A large majority of an artist’s work is influenced by their experiences. Their art is an imitation of their life and reflects the people, culture, and sounds surrounding them at that time. The color scheme or strokes represent the view an artist has on the period or the subject of their piece; they give their viewers the ability to look at the world from the artist’s eyes and interpret their feelings. When an artist creates a piece, they are expressing themselves, capturing moments or memories that are significant to them. An artist’s work is influenced by their life and thus personal to them. One artist whom this is especially applicable to is Salvador Dali, a surrealist artist, who drew inspiration and motivation from his thoughts and dreams when creating pieces.
Writing a decent essay can be nerve racking, time consuming, and can be accompanied by many trial and errors such as an art project. First you have to generate an idea, which can be the biggest challenge of them all. Then you have to decide on what details to incorporate and the placement for it. You begin to throw colors and shapes together in hopes that it will transform into a pleasing design. This all takes time, being challenged to create artwork, whether it be an essay or a painting, in sixty minutes becomes even more nerve racking and mind boggling. After last week’s timed writing practice, I was able to experience the dreadful event of producing a piece of artwork, which in my case was to deliver an essay,
Who am I? Growing up I lived my life with the fundamentals of art as therapy. I participated in dance, theater, music, shop class, and produced photography, origami, ceramics, sculptures, paintings and drawings. There wasn’t a creative outlet I hadn’t tried in my community. I often took it apon myself to strengthen these skills by staying late in art class and by teaching myself new skills not readily available to
The different characters show signs of obsession and longing for something the desperately need. While many of the characters found a connection between the painting and their problems, the painting was never the source of their misfortune. Their own thoughts and actions marked their lives. Their experiences in life have shaped who they had become, not the painting. It is easy for them to credit the painting for changing their lives, but it was their actions that did. But in the end, no one goes through life
As we grow up, we paint on our canvas. As we fall down, get bruises, get cuts, break bones, pull muscles, it is just more colors added on to your canvas. As we get old, we paint on our canvas. As we get wrinkles, sun spots, stretch marks, lose hair, friends, loved ones, it is just more colors added to your canvas. From that time when you were 5 years old and you dropped your first bunny in your backyard and you thought that your life was over, to that time when you are in your mid 30s and you are working at the number one Animal Hospital in the country saving animals lives, has all been added to your canvas and who you
Art is a medium that has no rules or requirements. Artists use huge arrays of strategies to convey deep messages and make the viewer ask new and unanswered questions. One of those strategies being “incompleteness”. As an artist myself I feel that every single piece of art has a degree of incompleteness. I could practice a piece of music for my entire life and as the performer I will always find something that I want to improve. Modern Contemporary art is even more so considered incomplete because of the technology we have today that allows us to change, edit, and reorganize our art. Instead of the piece of art being defined by its’ completeness the incompleteness of it becomes part of the art. My personal favorite piece of incomplete art is
The time to breathe before advancing further in my future projects, the difficult moments instead of discouraging me, these moments give me motivation and the necessary energy to move forward. I am optimist but realistic. My parents taught me that we live in a world that is constantly changing and to succeed we need a smart plan and the ability to adapt and adjust to the changing world environment but more importantly one need to prepare one’s self to succeed. We need discipline and above all an unshakable will to resist difficulties when they happen. “An ongoing work of art” would probably be one of the best ways to describe my life. From very early on in life, I have learn that I can be the artist of my own life through guidance and hard work, I learned that we are the architecture of our life, the artist of our own destiny through work, commitment and determination. Every route taken or not taken will somehow impact our existence and leave a trail like a shooting star in the night sky, the beauty of the trail depends entirely on the nature of our actions in life. This is the first time in my existence I have had the opportunity to write the story of my life in detail. This exercise
