How does the Filmmaking in Egypt affect our social and daily thinking of the new generation?
Introduction: -
Throughout the years many aspects of making films and spreading them in theatres for people to watch them has changed majorly. As time goes by the way of thinking in every generation changes and it is proven that our time now has become full of viciousness and impoliteness. Our filmmaking is foreshadowing this and examples of this matter are movies. Since the media has a huge role in affecting the audience in our generation moreover in different social levels, every social level is affected in a different way due to different observations. Due to different social levels in our country our kids acknowledge different types of fierceness and vulgarity throughout our filmmaking. Ninety minutes can effect a whole decade, especially in Egyptian movies it makes the children and sometimes adults want to act and feel like the character. The child behavior and personality is shaped upon the movies and the media, we can see it clearly in their speeches and acts. There are negative and positive film audience types, however it’s a psychological matter that we have to deal with it in a precise solicitous way.
The problem: -
As many decades passed one might differ whether the filmmaking changed or did it remain constant. However others might look to the matter in a different aspect because as time went by the violence emerged and the love and politeness vanished. The moviemakers right now focus on how to teach the people to be vicious with each other and how to make a fool out of someone easily however do not concentrate on how to spread the respect and peace needed in every human being in this arising generation. In this arising generation our youngsters take their favorite movie actors as role models and follow and say whatever they do in front of the camera. This is creating a colossal issue in our daily life and this matter is utterly dragging us back.
2. According to Sobchack, contemporary screen violence greatly differs than portrayals of violence in years past. Today, violent scenes are careless and lack significance because we as audiences have become calloused and desensitized to any acts of violence. She states that there is “no grace or benediction attached to violence. Indeed, its very intensity seems diminished” (Sobchack 432). Senseless violence, gruesome acts, and profound amounts of gore are prevalent in movies today, and because even this is not enough, it must be accompanied by loud blasts and noise, constantly moving scenes to keep audiences stimulated and large quantities of violence for viewers to enjoy what they are watching. Decades ago, it was the story that was engaging to audiences and filmmaking was an art.
The MPAA rating system was once a good source for people to find out whether a movie would contain immoral or violent images; currently the system has grown to become ineffective in today’s society. Society changes as well as movies; content and subject matter has changed for movies of this generation. If the system is not changed it will not help parents to know what movies will be appropriate for their children to watch. Because of the influence and prevalence of movies in our society and culture today a rating system is important, if that system fails to do its duty the negative influence that the movies can have on the children and youth of tomorrow will be great.

In a world in which acts of heinous violence, murder or crude and shocking behavior seem to be a normal occurrence, it may lead one to wonder what has put society onto this slippery slope. How did this type of behavior come to be so acceptable and in some cases glorifiable? A careful study of society may lead to multi media as being the main cause in this changing of ideals. Nowadays, the media has a greater influence than ever on what the public believes and accepts. Research shows that the amount and realism of violence and sex in movies has skyrocketed, influencing the views of our generation. However, little to no attention is placed on the effects of movies on our views of racism, sexism, classism, and heteronormativity. Before watching a movie, you can get a general idea of how much sex and violence it will contain, in order to decide if it is appropriate for you. However, how can one tell if a movie is too racist, sexist, classist, or heteronormative for his/her viewing pleasure? What makes a movie racist, sexist, classist, or heteronormative for certain audiences, and not others? My take on the Motion Picture Association of America’s rating system serves to tackle these questions and bring light to the media’s influence on our views on racism, sexism, classism, and heternormativity. My audience for this rating system is primarily parents, who are easily offended by the racism, sexism, classism, and heteronormativity present in the media. They would likely care the most about the presentation of these ideologies in a movie, since they would not want their children to be influenced by the views portrayed in the films they watch.
