Man of Steel Review
Man of Steel is a sci-fi drama movie based on a combination of Superman movies created in the late 70s to late 80s. The movie is directed by Zack Snyder who had a heavy hand in the action packed digital innovations movie 300 as well as the movie Watchmen, who is known for doing movies on major DC Comic heroes, with his latest being the most recent of the Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight. Man of Steel starts off introducing the audience to Clark Kent, also known as Superman, as a child when he first learns of his unique powers as well as his home planet. As a young man, Clark Kent adventures to explore where he came from and what he was sent to earth to accomplish. As the movie progresses, he discovers that the hero inside him must surface if he is to save the planet from utter destruction and be the hope for society. With its fresh take on a very classic tale, Man of Steel is the Dark Knight-ification of Superman.
Man of Steel has found little success with critics, but has been praised for the actors and actresses chosen to play the character roles. Henry Cavill was chosen to play the part of Clark Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod, and Clark’s parents are played by Diane Lane and Kevin Costner. This is a high quality group of actors and actresses who also bring an element of star-power to the film. Top critic for Newsday.com, Rafer Guzman agrees and says that the characters complement each other smoothly, especially Kevin Costner, who Guzman refers to as “genuinely moving.”
Critics also praised the visuals and the characters, while finding shortcomings in the overall tone and portrayal of Superman’s character. Many critics agree that Snyder was successful with the visu...

...er notable action movie like The Avengers, Man of Steel wins this debate with no competition the action was that good. To touch on the sequel, I believe Snyder and Nolan will hit more on the Superman everyone has come to know and love by exploring more into Clark’s romance life. Man of Steel brings the bang for your buck literally, get the popcorn ready, this is one of the best action movies of the decade and is a quintessential Snyder film.

...revolutionize a whole new genre of movie, a genre which is fast becoming more and moe popular. 'As filmmaking technology has made it more and more feasible to bring the worlds of the comics to movie theaters, the comics themselves have begun to provide a broader and richer array of material.. from which films might be made' (Booker 2007: Paul Benton, Lecture notes). All the mentioned arguments throughout this essay on top of; the star performances, unique marketing and special effects, help make The Dark Knight a truly great film. Prior to the movies release it was questioned wether the film could sustain the 'increasing moral weight imposed upon it', the movie to date has more than dealt with this pressure, and has become a focal point for many discussions and essays, and finally it is because of the morals and ethics within the movie that I have written this essay.
We are currently living in the Golden Age of Superheroes. They dominate our cultural life, and have become seemingly permanent fixtures in modern media. Since X-Men burst onto the screen fifteen years ago, we have witnessed the release of over forty superhero movies. By 2020 we will have seen the release of more than twenty-five more. Today, the much anticipated film Superman vs. Batman has come to theaters. Though a plethora of superhero movies have been released, it is to the dissatisfaction of many, having long been exhausted by the stories of the Hulk, Batman, and Spider-man. Although I must agree that it is quite easy to get bored with the constant action, and flashing colors of these films, if one looks deep enough into the story they will discover universal themes and metaphors. Though they may be fighting off alien invasions, these heroes are also battling with their personal challenges, challenges which we can
Somebody who had established higher power in their community. Somebody who tried to run from fate, and has the moment of recognition and understanding of their destiny. Batman. Even though he is considered the strong and powerful superhero of Gotham City, Batman's characteristic features show that he relates strongly to that of a "tragic" hero. In the beginning, the Batman is presented at a higher state of appreciation, even though the police see him as a vigilante. Despite his wealth, Batman, otherwise known as Bruce Wayne, is easily relatable to audiences, which makes it easy to sympathize and empathize with the character. Batman is in a constant battle within himself, trying to be the good guy, while defeating the bad guys. His morals prove true when he admits that he won't kill any of the many villians that cause destruction for Gotham City. But, because of this moral, sometimes the villians end up escaping and doing more harm then good. In the end, this interal chaos and internal battle is seen interally and externally through Batman. At the end of the most recent Batman series, The Dark Knight, his exit at the end of the movie is, in essence, his figurative death. Bruce Wayne wants to keep Gotham City safe. And with the "Batman" gone, villians will be least likely to continue to destroy and conquer. As an audience, we cling to the edge of our seats and feel dismay for our beloved superhero and what is to become of

To conclude, the graphic novel Watchmen presents the non-fantastic representation of a superhero, implying that not all heroes are like Superman. This notion is explored within the novel by mentioning the realistic motives of the characters choosing to become superheroes, by Rorschach’s representation and through the heroic reactions of the New Yorkers to a street crime. These elements all contribute to Watchmen’s uniqueness and complexity as a superhero comic.
The core of American myth is Superman consists of a few basic facts that remain unchanged throughout the infinitely varied ways in which the myth is told – facts with which everyone is familiar, however marginal their knowledge of the story. Superman is an orphan rocketed to Earth when his native planet Krypton explodes; he lands near Smallville and is adopted by Jonathan and Martha Kent, who inculcate in him their American middle-class ethic; as an adult he migrates to Metropolis there he defends America – no, the world! no, the universe – from all evil and harm while playing a romantic game in which, as Clark Kent, he hopelessly pursues Superman, who remains aloof until such time as Lois proves worthy of him by falling in live with his feigned identity as a weakling. That’s it. (Engle, 678).
In conclusion my expectations were met because we all want to be a certain hero in our everyday lives but sometimes don’t know which one is actually the better and more positive one. Strength, power, intelligence, and authority are the most important things the outlaw hero and official hero will bring even if they are above a certain rule or really beneath it. Outlaws are not always the bad guys, but are not always the good guys either. In this case Batman is the good guy disguised as the bad guy. Official heroes are always the good guys no matter the circumstance. Superman in this case is the good guy disguised as the actual good guy. Being above the law or against it, official heroes and outlaw heroes will always paint the picture that you can be strong, powerful, intelligent, and have the authority you deserve.
Bruce Wayne uses all of the strength he possesses in order to keep Batman from being free despite his relentless struggles to break free from the chains
"Fifty years later. Citizen Kane is as fresh, as provoking, as entertaining, as funny, as sad and as brilliant as it ever was. Many agree it is the greatest film of all time. Those who differ cannot seem to agree on their candidate."
... of The Amazing Spider-man 2 would say that this film has a number of defects. There are Gwen’s death, unsatisfactory ending, and even insufficient storylines. I should agree that this film needs more efforts on the detail parts. However, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was abundant and technically magnificent production for me, in many ways. As I mentioned above, Gwen’s death part gave the audiences many meanings to think about heroic movies critically, and the actors’ movements were fantastic enough. The computer-generated special effects of this film director were spectacularly real when Spider-Man dangled from a tower shelf or swings through New York City. I could feel excessive joy, and Additionally, the scene where Electro appeared Times Square was masterful in drawing the audiences’ attention as well. I hope to watch the next movie as a big fan of the Spider-man.
On one end of the spectrum lays Superman, an alien who from birth is comparable to god, and on the opposite side lays Lex Luthor, a genius human who comes from nothing and created a financial empire. Superman
Any fan of Batman knows that “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight” are two of the best Batman films made in the seventy-eight years that Batman has been around. The plots really make you look deep in yourself and show the true and more real sides of the characters of the Batman world. Each movie shows the evolution of Batman and shows only a few of the many crazy and intense adventures of this mysterious hero. These two movies are the first two in the dark knight trilogy, created by the amazing Christopher Nolan. These movies were heavily praised for their astounding realism to the real world, and its pros and cons. But they were also extremely liked for their possibility for

Unlike Captain Marvel, this gives the viewers the opportunity to truly examine Clark Kents alter ego in Superman. We establish, the real transformation from Clark Kent as a quite, shy newspaper journalist to that of strong confident heroic man. Superman is born with his powers, and unlike Captain Marvel and Iron Man, he uses his powers purely for justice without killing anyone. Society during the 1970's needed an idol that represented humanity at it's best. Making the right decision, even if it didn't seem like it. For example, taking Lex Luthor to prison without killing him. Superman is suggested as starting the trend of the "cookie-cutter musclemen"(Maria Hart, April 2016) which represent modern day superhero's including Iron Man. These charaters look physically strong, unlike Captain Marvel, Superman truly fits the name of being
