This movie presents Ferris Bueller, a clever high school student who feels that he does not want to go to school when he wakes up, so he decides to pretend being sick to trick his parents into letting him stay home from school. His parents are nice, caring and naive people who would never imagine that their son would lie to them, and therefore, they believe his horrendous sick acting. He gets his girlfriend, Sloan Peterson, excused out of school by calling in to fake report that her grandmother had died. He also gets his friend Cameron, who really is sick, to accompany Sloan and himself for a day in the city of Chicago before they all go off to different universities. Two people who have no doubt that Ferris' story is false are his sister and the Ed Rooney, principal of his school. The gang take Cameron's father's car and go to a baseball game, visit the Sears tower, the Art Institute of Chicago, and a parade where Ferris jumps onto a parade float and lip syncs to a song that is playing and no one recognizes him or worries about it. At the end of the day, Ferris and Cameron attempt to roll back the odometer on the car and instead somehow manage to completely total it, sending Cameron into an immense rage after which, he attempts to drown himself in Sloan’s pool, only to be saved by Ferris. Ferris only has a few moments to scurry home before his lie is revealed. He manages to get back in the whim of time while barely avoiding his parents and everyone is oblivious to his massive lie. In all of this, Ferris gets off without consequence and is praised for it, but there is one thing, in engaging in all these acts in one 8-10 hour period, it is not possible to do. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off uses an impossible timeline span in which one gr...

...ards his house while racing his sister and running into Rooney at the back door adds a little bit of time.
All of these times were accurate and rounded but were in Ferris’s favor. Ferris’s parents would have gotten home a lot sooner than 7:15pm and he would have been busted. If Ferris was not busted there, then maybe at the parade where he jumped up on the float and no one wondered who he was and no one recognized him. His sister would have gotten there a lot sooner than she had while still going to the police station, which does not take three hours judging she gets off school at around 2:30pm, does her own thing before she goes home, and finds Rooney in the house then goes to the station at 4. Ferris most well known quote is, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss It.” in this case, time moved a little too fast.
These days the money and personnel that go into creating a movie is scandalous. It is almost unbelievable that every time they don’t come out with anything less than a classic. Luckily this is true in the case of "Ferris Buller’s Day Off", which features some of the best casted actors for a long time and costs in the region of $5.8 million. Luckily, it is fantastic - and this is why.
The first thing that needs to be looked at is where Ferris lives. Ferris most likely lives within 10 minutes of his school considering he lives in the Chicago area and there are many high schools, he wouldn’t live too far from his high school. That is all just logic. Ferris’ school was shot at Glenbrook North High School which is at 2300 Shermer Road Northbrook, IL 60062. Using this site and assuming Ferris’ house is ten minutes away the journey begins. It is assumed that Ferris and Cameron pick up Sloane at 10 a.m. from school so this is when the timing starts. From school they head to downtown Chicago in Cameron dad’s 1961 Ferrari GT California, which has a top speed of 155 mph . Despite this we can assume that with Ferris driving, and him being a very daring and confident teenager, he was likely driving between 80 and 90 mph on the open freeways to downtown. Ferris had to travel about 22 miles to the parking garage in downtown Chicago, 18 of which were on a freeway. Assuming Ferris drives about 80 mph it would take him less then 15 minutes on the freeway and probably another 10 minutes on surface streets to get to the parking garage. The parking garage was located on the corner of Madison and Wells in downtown Chicago. This would make the time about 10:25 a.m. when they reached the parking garage to drop off the Ferrari.

Ferris Bueller is a young, rebellious, high school senior who gets away with just about everything. One day, he decides to play hooky and skip school for the ninth time. He tricks his parents into thinking he is sick with his signature fake stomach cramp and clammy palms. After his parents leave for work, Bueller calls up his rigid, hypochondriac best friend Cameron to join him on his day off. Initially refusing to leave the comfort of his bed, Cameron finally is persuaded to not only join Ferris, but to also bring his Father’s precious Ferrari out on the town. The first stop on their rebellious journey is to bail out Bueller’s girlfriend, Sloane, from school. They do so by calling Ed Rooney,
The last night of their high school began with a borrowed Impala car. The audience experiences relationship woes, a sock hop, a mysterious blonde, and pranks on the cops. More importantly, as the movie goes on, daring street races, run-ins with greasers, vandalizing, and booming rock ‘n’ roll replace the happy atmosphere. The movie orchestrates many storylines and is full of fashionable nostalgia, music and vivacity of the night. The movie also crafted scenes with risky antics, using contemporary music to spectacularly enhance the tenor of the
This film contains some classic examples of the kinds of real life issues adolescents deal with. Issues such as popularity, peer relationships, family/sibling relationships, sex, and struggles with identity are all addressed in this ninety-minute film.
The Breakfast Club is a movie made in nineteen eighty-five, directed by John Hughes. The plot follows five students at Shermer High School, as they attend for Saturday detention on March 24 on nineteen eighty-four. The students are not complete strangers to each other, but the five of them are from completely different cliques or social groups. John Bender “The Criminal” is one of the worst behaved kids in school, does drugs and is always involved in some kind of trouble, Claire Standish “The Princess” is one of the most popular girls in school, all the guys want to date her. Brian Johnson “The Brain” is the typical nerd, he is really smart in school, but has no idea about relationships, parties or drugs. Andy Clark “The Athlete” is a really popular kid in Shermer High, he is the varsity letterman, captain of wrestling team and a ladies man. Finally the last student in the detention is Allison Reynolds “The basket Case” she barely talks to anyone in the school and act really weird when approached.
The movie The Breakfast Club is a perfect example of peer relationships in the adolescent society. It shows the viewer some of the main stereotypes of students in high school you have a jock, a nerd, the weirdo, a rebel, and a prep. Over the course of a Saturday detention the different types of peers learn a lot about one another by hearing what each one has done to get into Saturday detention as well as why they chose to do it.
The film being analysed is the Breakfast Club, directed by John Hughes. Trapped in Saturday detention are 5 stereotyped teens. Claire, the princess, Andrew, the jock, John, the criminal, Brian, the brain, and Allison, the basket case. At 7 am, they had nothing to say, but by 4 pm; they had uncovered everything to each other. The students bond together when faced with the their principal, and realise that they have more in common than they think, including a hatred for adult society. They begin to see each other as equal people and even though they were stereotyped they would always be The Breakfast Club. The Breakfast Club highlights a variety of pressures that are placed upon teenagers through out high school. One of the most challenging aspects of screenwriting is creating characters that an audience can identify with, relate to, and be entertained by.

Commonly, vehicular collisions are considered a negative occurrence. Dave Eggers hints towards this mindset in his short story Accident. Plotted in the middle of an intersection in 2005, the story commences with the main character driving his automobile through the intersection and striking an older Camaro. The three teenagers in the Camaro are fine, but the main character notices all the damage he has done to their vehicle and he fears an unpleasant encounter with them. Dave Eggers uses irony throughout the situation to illustrate the main character’s relief. The characters’ involvement with the collision emphasizes Egger’s theme that no matter how unfortunate an incident, positivity can result.
The film opens as the protagonist, Dewey Finn, is kicked out of the Rock-and-Roll band he performs as a singer and guitarist in after an evening of particularly extraordinary antics results in their performance ending early. During breakfast with his roommates the morning after the aborted performance, Dewey is reminded of his overdue rent payments. As he works to sell some of his musical instruments via telephone, he answers a phone call intended for Ned, one of his roommates. The phone call is from a prestigious private school principal inquiring as to Ned’s availability to work as a substitute teacher, and distraught and overwhelmed by his need to make
The film is set in 1991 in a suburban part of Pittsburgh. The movie starts by showing naïve Charlie in his first few days of high school. The beginning is scattered with subtle hints, that piece together to give us an image of his troubled past. This is a great way for the director to give us information without throwing it at us. It is very clear that Charlie has been to a mental ward at some point, but he gets a good start in all of his subjects. English is one of his favourite subjects, as he has the ambition to become a successful writer one day, so he jumps ahead on work rather quickly. This makes him fall into a cliché group of smart kids, most of which are seniors, in fact one of his first friends is his English teacher. At this point you just think, well this is going to be another teenage movie about drugs, violence and alcohol. But then there is a twist, Charlie makes friends with Patrick, a senior student in his wood shop class, not because of his intellectual ability but more because he is the joker of the class. Although Patrick is a joker, really confident and energetic, he still gets picked on by other seniors. Charlie soon falls in love with Patrick’s step-sister Sam, but he keeps quite about it in front of the no-nonsense Sam. The trio share many things, such as their love for seventies music, t...

The boys soon grow into their new beliefs, Neil gets a part in a play, and when his father finds out they get into a fight opening night Later that night, something horrible happens. In the end, Keating is fired but many of the boys stand up for him including Todd
