My favorite sport is association football, best known as soccer, is the most popular sport in the world that requires few elements to be played and is highly acclaimed. It is played around the world in a lot of countries and has big amounts of fans. It consists of eleven players on each side of the field, trying to get the ball to the opposing goal by crossing through the counter team by maneuvering the ball or performing a series of passes to get to the goal and score. Famous teams and players are widely recognized all over the world and most of them face in tournaments, which the best are the FIFA world cup for national teams and the UEFA champions league for club leagues. Soccer in United States is not very popular, and recently was conceived as a professional sport, with his biggest league, the Major League Soccer. In my home country, Ecuador, soccer is the most popular sport often causing exuberance on people.
Origin of soccer came from ancient Greek and Roman civilizations where games were similar to nowadays known as soccer. With rules and the basis of the sport set in England, became a sport known as association football. It is the highest viewed sport in the world, from people rushing into the stadium, to people tuning their TV’s on the game. It is played by millions, from little kids to professionals. Its main element to be played is the ball; leather made, is why the most reachable sport is for middle or lower class people. People follow this sport with passion and love, that one feels when is in the stadium cheering for the team.

Also, the area where one scores is in the same locations in both sports, the end zones of football and the goals of soccer are on opposite sides of the field.
