Recommended: Effects of technology on human life

The Apocalypse. The Day of Final Judgment. The Armageddon. Throughout the history of humankind, the concept of the end of the world and an afterlife constantly lingered and drove humans to fear the gods. Most believed that a catastrophic event caused by divine or supernatural powers would end the world and plunge humans into the mysterious abyss of the afterlife. In recent years, however, it is becoming more apparent that the technologies and innovations of human creation will eventually be the root cause of their demise. Technologies created during the 20th and 21st centuries alone have contributed to multitudes of problems, including mass pollution, atmospheric deterioration, overwhelming poverty, and the constant threat of complete nuclear annihilation. The growing deadliness of technologies coupled with the continuing corruption of humans can be enough to lead to the destruction of most, if not all, humans. In addition, the threat of natural catastrophic occurrences exists as a considerable threat to humans. Disease pandemics, devastating meteor strikes, and the age of the solar system are all factors that can and eventually will destroy the human race. Thus, even if humans are able to become an advanced utopian society devoid of corruption and pollution, the threat of natural catastrophes will ensure the death of the human race. Therefore, in hypothesizing the fate of the human race, it is only a question whether the end is coming sooner or later. New human technology and natural catastrophic occurrences will eventually end the human race.

...gent life on earth. Human intellectual elevation has made their fate slightly more complicated. Whereas other animals were unable to develop ways to save themselves, humans are gifted with the opportunity to avoid extinction, at least for some time. Although humans do have this possibility of survival, the position of modern countries and societies and the destructiveness of human technology justifies the more realistic view that humans will destroy themselves overtime. If this “realistic” and somewhat pessimistic view is disproven and humans are able to overcome these problems, annihilation will still be certain for humans as natural catastrophes reap their destruction on earth. Although there is a chance for humans to exist for millions of years into the future, the universe simply will not let humans exist for forever. Humanity will end, whether sooner, or later.

People create chemicals, synthetics that introduced along with radiation harm the environment and organisms. The toxic productions are introduced to the environment but people hardly know about the devils of their own creation. These productions cause negative effects such as kill vegetation, sicken cattle, and cause the polluted air. People use chemicals to control the insects but this method has had only limited success. Day by day, insects adapt these chemicals to survive, become stronger and more difficult to control. In the end, the chemicals lose. The writer also says that monoculture (single-crop farming system) does not take advantage of the principles by which nature works, people is simplifying the nature that has introduced variety. Rachel Carson suggests using polyculture (grow many crops in a field) 50 years ago. People also have to face with the modern insect problem. Because of the isolation from one continent to another, insect developed many new species. These species began to move out into new territories that is receiving considerable assistance from man.
