Too many issues today to fix in our society: war, economy, world warming, health benefits, and so on; in this stressful life there is no time to stop and think: What matter? Our children: our past, present and future; what is given to them is part of what the future will be. Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). Children should inherit from their parents, values that guide and prepare them through every step of the life: the importance of the family is one; be part of it is like parts of the human body, each one is supporting each other. Then the importance of faith; anyone needs to believe in something spiritual, needs to feed the soul: the Bible, is a Christian book that has all the teaching necessary to survive in this life, for any situation ones may be. Nevertheless, education is also a value to be appreciated because is like a passport to the future. Family, faith, and education values are the young’s best chance for a happy life, and a better world.
Precisely, be member of a family is like parts of a body, they support and help each other. Build a strong relationship doing things together, not just fun stuff, like playing, watching a movie, but also prepare for dinner, do chores, or go to the church together, volunteer to help others, build respect for elderly, for sick, and for authority as well. Children will learn the sense of responsibility that will carries into adulthood, they will not need to be reminded to be on time for work or for meeting deadlines. Instead of trying to fix this society, everybody should stop and think: what matter? War, economy, world warming; “If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children”. (Mohandas Gandhi). Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see”. (John W. Whitehead). Family, faith and education are values that have been my guide, my bone structure, helped me in my bad times and support in good times, and passing them on to my children convinced affirm that these values are the young’s best chance for a happy life and a better world.
The most compelling data that we have shows the change in our American family structure. Day there are alarming number of children with mental disorders and children being raised in single parent homes has increased. In both areas it is shown that we need more preventive care (Petersmeyer 1989). Other statistics are equally troubling: each day in the United States, 3,600 students drop out of high school, and 2,700 unwed teenage girls get pregnant (Petersmeyer 1989). As a society we have a responsibility to our youth to help them become strong adults. My grandmother was always telling me that it takes more then the immediate family to raise a child well, if a child is to be rear well it takes a whole community contribution.
I interviewed Rita Wright from Northwest Georgia Housing Authority. She is in charge of resident services. She is an African American with a predominately African American clientele; therefore I knew I would be able to obtain much information from her viewpoint. When I asked Ms. Wright to talk about her key values and characteristics common in her culture she talked extensively about family. Family is a major part of her life. She stated that she is like most African Americans in which family values are extremely important. There are several people in her life who have earned the title of aunt, sister or cousin who are not blood related. These are individuals who have always been there for her and her family, so they too are considered just like family. Most African American families are embedded in complex kinship networks of blood and nonrelated individuals (Diller, 2011). To Ms. Wright there is nothing more precious than family. If family wrongs you, you forgive and forget. If family needs help, you must be there for them. In the end family is all we have.

In life, the moment we grow up is the day we start to visualize the future. Questions like, “How will I maintain this job?” “How will I begin a family?” “When will people start to recognize me for my talents?” “Will I ever fulfill my dream?” start to arise. Also, many other questions are being asked all the time, but since we are all different, everyone’s life questions are not the same. Matter fact, the easiest answer to our life questions are the lessons we learned at home and the lessons we were taught as kids. Therefore as kids, we learn all of these unique different lessons from our parents or family in general. Dedicated and responsible parents or members of the family know that children are the future. A family’s job and presence is to provide children with a feeling of belonging and creativity of their identity. Families should be a source of emotional support, comfort, protection, and etc. The relationships we create and mend creates our future self mentally and emotionally. Love is a strong word that cause us to either become strong or weak as an individual. Love comes and goes, but we start to realize that only unconditional love we really need is the love from our family. A family’s love is what causes us to grow into the person we should become. The theme of family is presented in a way to build the character’s charisma and how much support becomes a lifeline.
In the contemporary world, characterized by democracy, educators have the role of not only passing necessary skills for employment purposes, but also teaching values that will enhance citizenship. In other words, educating the whole child entails passing instructions that enhances patriotism and good citizenship, leading to poverty eradication through development, instilling morals and values, while enhancing co-existence among people in the society. As illustrated by Noddings (2005), in the democratic society schools have the obligation of going beyond teaching fundamental skills if the endeavor of educating the whole child is to be met. Importantly, it is apparent that learning institutions are secondary agents of socialization where children learn important virtues and values that are essential in the society as they spend the most part of their childhood in school. In this regard, educating the whole child means transmitting values through extra-curriculum activities where both genders are integrated and also via clubs and societies where children are taught to be responsible. As well, the education curriculum should educate the whole child through transmitting of vital cultural values that enable them to avoid stereotypes when they grow into their adulthood (Lumpkin, 2008). This is because education for the whole child enhances the development of cognitive skills, which enable the child to have an understanding of causal relationships and demonstrating tolerance towards other individuals (Preston & Andy,
Nothing is a better experience for a parent than watching their child grow into who they were taught to be. It turns out that 66% of parents intend to and do raise their children with the same life lessons, good or bad, that they were exposed to when they were young (Murray). Raising a family requires values, which evolve into ethics, and are crucial to a successful family. This shows that values are what keep the family in their desired lifestyle. Diversity of values in American families, through morals and tradition, is key to what makes this country so unique.

There are many benefits to teachings having a good relationship with the student’s family, guardian, or parents. Teachers should begin the school year with building positive relationships with the student’s families. In the book it mentions that there is ongoing research that indicates the benefits of family involvement in children’s education. Some of these benefits mentioned were children earning higher grades, tend to have better attendance, have higher rates of homework completion, and are more motivated and have positive attitudes towards school. A family must establish a set of values and morals that the members should try to live and abide by. It does not mean writing them down on paper and following them as if they are laws, but it simply means taking a practical approach to raising a family. The best way to ensure that these morals are followed by the children is by having the parents follow them as well. Children learn by modeling the authorities and in every family, the authorities are the parents. The parents are ultimately responsible for their children’s behavior because the children act accordingly to what they are taught and what they witness.
