High School Education in America Education in America has a large range of differences. Many kids attend High schools that have a different culture, or way of doing things. Some students attend school in an independent school district, while others either attend private schools or school in the privacy of their own home. Students attend public high schools all over the world. Some kids attend them because their parents either can’t afford a private high school, or do not believe in private education. Public schools are growing in number of students each year, which are causing schools to become overcrowded. In the last three years, school shootings have become very popular. There have been a number of student/ teacher relationships that start as early as seventh grade. Violence is the number one issue world wide in public High schools. An estimated 30-35% of students in the world attend private schools. It has been a proven fact that kids that attended private high schools are better prepared for college. This is possible because there are fewer disturbances, and a less populated building. Students are tested before being accepted into private schools so therefore, most kids who are not college prep. material are filtered out. Another proven fact about students attending private high schools is that they are sheltered from the public. When the kids graduate and go off to college they have a better chance making it academic wise, but not socially. They have not been exposed to public school life as much as a public school graduate would have been. Private schools spend more one-on-one time with students helping them with homework, or even studying for a test. Some private schools are Christian schools, which range from different religions. These schools require that you take a religion class.
The results shown in table 1 clearly show that when the volume of yeast is increased in the milk solution, so does the rate of oxygen depletion and therefore the rate of eutrophication. It shows that when 2mL of yeast solution was added it took 32.86 minutes on average for the milk to be depleted of oxygen, while it took only 7.46 minutes on average for the 10mL of yeast to use up the oxygen present.
I also predict that as the light is moved closer to the plant there will be more bubbles (oxygen) produced due to the increase of photosynthesis speed explained above. So in conclusion I predict that the more light intensity there is on the plant the faster the rate of photosynthesis there will be.
This experiment can be improved to further test the capabilities of yeast by adding an additional category. Changing the pH of the liquid that the yeast is in would allow us to see the effect of pH on yeast. A possible source of error is the temperature of the room. This can affect the data, and make the cold water warmer or the warm water cooler. To solve this problem, the temperature should also be measured at the 10 minute mark to see if the temperature has changed and affected the yeast’s cellular
The greatest country in the world still has problems evenly distributing education to its youth. The articles I have read for this unit have a common theme regarding our education system. The authors illustrate to the reader about the struggles in America concerning how we obtain and education. Oppression, politics, racism, and socioeconomic status are a few examples of what is wrong with our country and its means of delivering a fair education to all Americans.
To start this study, nine labeled test tubes were setup with precise amounts of 2mL of deionized water, and 1ml of 50-50 corn syrup to water mixture. The addition of 1mL of yeast would also be added, but this will not be added until the fermentation apparatus is assembled in the water bath and ready to begin the reaction. The assemble of our apparatus included submerging and combining of the test tube and tubing with a stopper to ensure no air is in the apparatus. Then the assemble would be put this apparatus with water inside a Styrofoam cup, to ensure temperature is conserved best, and prepare to add the test tube with controlled substance to the test tube and stopper. The water baths at different temperatures are the only variables changed. One water bath was set up as the control group at room temperature, 28°C. The second water bath was setup to 0.4°C by use of ice water, and third bath used hot water at 49°C. Right before adding the test tube with control substance, the yeast would be added to create the reaction that produced the gas. To ensure best accuracy of fermentation, an initial test tube with all substances but yeast was performed to obtain an initial equilibrium time. Measuring of this time occurs till no more air is bubbling out of tube. This time is where we would mark are initial measuring line for each of the following reactions. The American education system used to be known as one of the leaders in education, having the highest graduation rate, and being innovative when it came to teaching styles. Now, it seems that it’s changing and other countries have taken it’s places as the best. This makes sense since the statistics show that most American students are losing to foreign countries. There were five test solutions used in this experiment, water being the control, which were mixed with a yeast solution to cause fermentation. A 1ml pipetman was used to measure 1 ml of each of the test solutions and placed them in separated test tubes. The 1 ml pipetman was then used to take 1ml of the yeast solution, and placed 1ml of yeast into the five test tubes all containing 1 ml of the test solutions. A 1ml graduated pipette was placed separately in each of the test tubes and extracted 1ml of the solutions into it. Once the mixture was in the pipette, someone from the group placed a piece of parafilm securely on the open end of the pipette and upon completion removed the top part of the graduated pipette.

Though there have been many problems raised throughout the years in regard to what our school systems should be teaching our children, there have also been many developments.
The independent factor that will be tested is effect of different wavelengths on the rate of photosynthesis. Wavelength, in particular, is extremely vital because without the suitable wavelength a plant cannot photosynthesise. As a result of the suitable wavelength, the chloroplast is able to convert light energy into chemical energy at a faster rate. The rate of carbon dioxide uptake by the algae balls is used to measure the rate of photosynthesis. The alginate is porous allowing for constant exchanges of gases. The use of hydrogen carbonate indicator changes the color in response to changes in CO2 concentration and the pH of the solution. CO2 dissolved in water forms carbonic acid, which will lower pH. As dissolved CO2 increases and pH falls, the color of the solution changes. Respiration will produce CO2, while photosynthesis will take it up. Therefore, when the rate of photosynthesis is greater than the rate of respiration, the CO2, concentration will decrease, and pH will increase. The objective of our project was to determine if different wavelengths of light would affect the growth of the Rhodococcus genus and whether the two bacteria would handle DNA damage from UV light exposure differently. Our hypothesis is that various wavelengths of light would inhibit the growth of bacterial colonies of both Rhodococcus species differently. Also, we believe that Rhodococcus fascians (yellow) is more resistant to DNA damage from UV light than Rhodococcus corynebacterioides (red). To perform this experiment, we first made the bacterial growth medium was made. Then, the process of the dilution of the bacteria is performed to allow the bacteria to be seen easily. The second part of this lab deals with photosynthesis. This lab has several experiments. In the first experiment students will learn about the effects that different colored test tubes have on photosynthesis in elodea sprigs.
When tasked to measure the rate of photosynthesis among spinach leaves , we were given a large choice of lightbulbs of varying color, size, intensity, and so forth. The goal of the experiment was to see under which conditions would photosynthesis occur best under. We used two bulbs of equal intensity and distance from the plant matter submerged in water, but one was red and the other was white, along with a control test of simply using the lights of the classroom. After 15 minutes of being under the light much more plant pieces had risen to the top of the glass (suggesting oxygen had been produced from photosynthesis) under the red light than both the white light and control group. Much of what will be explored will fit his dimensions. The practical and ritual dimension can been seen in all three religions through worship and rituals and patterns of behaviour. The latter are those acts that help the believer develop spiritual awareness or ethical insight, such as yoga or meditation in Buddhism and Hinduism. The experiential and emotional dimension of religion explains that religion feeds on human emotions and key events from history to illustrate this is, the enlightenment of the Buddha, or the visions of Muhammad. A person will not follow something without meaning or emotion driving it. The narrative or mythic dimension of religion refers to the use of story telling in religion. Typically, all faiths use stories to illustrate their beliefs or events in history, whether they might be of things to come, or like in this essay, stories of the Buddha, or Muhammad. The use of story telling is important as the stories are often based on accounts of history or documents that have been found. Story telling can enhance the believers faith and are often integrated into rituals. The doctrinal and philosophical dimension of religion talks about the importance of the holy books/ doctrines. Since the doctrines typically have an account of the leaders life, and the leaders are usually educated, believers read the doctrines to gain an insight into the leaders life; and thus strive to become more like them or abide by their teachings. The ethical and legal
