In 1919 the signed Treaty of Versailles was the end of the First World War after 4 long years of death. The Germans, who found the terms of the Treaty to be outrageous, signed the Treaty. Among the crowd of angry German’s was a 30-year-old man named Adolf Hitler. This essay will explore the factors that lead to Hitler’s rise to power from the signing of the Treaty in 1919 to when he became Chancellor of Germany in 1933. In Hitler’s rise to power there were long term, short term and immediate effects that help him. When Hitler started the Nazi party they were just a small insignificant party that had no luck in elections though, by 1933 they got about 43% of votes in an election.

There were many causes that helped Hitler in his rise to power and something that greatly helped him was the fact that at that time Germany was in severe poverty and Germany was in a time of severe economic depression. Because of this, the Weimar republic, which were in charge of Germany at the time, had to idea how to fix their problems. Hitler saw this as a chance to gain support for his new Nazi party as people were starting to look for a new government. The Weimar republic was very weak and so they were split into coalitions. The Weimar republic needed to print more money, which in turn caused hyperinflation in the German economy. A long-term cause to Hitler’s rise to power was the fact that Germany hated the treaty of Versailles and so they sided with Hitler because he promised to abolish it. Finally Hitler blamed the Jews, socialists and the Catholics for the mutiny in he last year of the war to take advantage of the German people to get them on his side and gain supporters for his Nazi party. ...ecause there was no solution the rest of the government could think of so Hitler was appointed chancellor, also with help from Von Papen who convinced Hindenburg to name Hitler Chancellor. Hitler used this power to gain supporters for his Nazi group and he burnt down the parliament building and directed the blame towards other parties like the communists. In 1934 Hindenburg died and Hitler tore up the constitution of the Weimer republic, and declared himself Fuhrer. The third Reich began when Hitler declared the army his army and not the army of Germany.

Finally, we can see how Hitler took advantage of every opportunity he could to gain support for his party, which in turn help him get power in Germany. His brilliant public speaking and knowing what the German people wanted made people follow Hitler and support him as they thought he would be a great German leader.
